A Blaze Across the Plains [Matriarchy]

Wen Rui has only seen Yuan Qianjin once, on the street.

A grand carriage passes before her. The masked prince sits inside, one hand propped at his side, his cheek resting lightly against it. His beautiful brows are slightly furrowed, as if something is troubling him.

He is a prince of Dayong, while she is only a physician. It seems there is an enormous, uncrossable chasm between them.

The neighbor aunties urge her to find a husband suitable for an ordinary life, but she turns them down.

If she cannot spend her life with the one she loves, then perhaps living alone isn't so bad.

Until one day, the person who should always be surrounded by attendants stands before her, looking somewhat bedraggled, and says:

"Help me."

She says, "All right."

"You're willing to help me without asking who I am?"

"If I asked, would you tell me?"

After a brief pause, he says, "No."

Wen Rui smiles and steps closer to him.

Suddenly, a gust of wind blows, tangling both their hair.

Reader's Guide:

1. Set in an alternate history, with many authorial liberties. The leads are each other's first and only partners.

2. The female lead has no penis, but has internal anatomy; the men can give birth.

3. This is neither a female-lead-focused nor a male-lead-focused story. I just like angst. Please don't attribute the actions of any characters, major or minor, to the author. I'm sensitive, so no writing advice, please. If you don't like it, just leave using the top-left corner. No need to @ the author.

Theme: True love wears away stone, drop by drop.
