Blurb One:
They say that people in love grow more and more alike.
Atobe Keigo, however, says, "What nonsense. This great me already looks exactly like him!"
From childhood onward, Atobe Keigo had few equals, thanks to his extraordinary rarity as an S-rank Guide and a powerful mental manifestation just like his mother's. He could have anything he wanted, whenever he wanted it.
That is, until one day in his third year of junior high, when he saw the greatest "flaw" in his future life:
Someone who looked exactly like him and whom he found absolutely infuriating.
He had just managed to convince himself, despite having eyesight on par with a top sniper's, that he must have imagined it. But when he got home, his parents confirmed the dreadful truth with their own mouths.
"Keigo, this is you from another world. From now on, he'll be your older brother."
"& # * ¥"
Atobe Keigo didn't want to admit it, but the strange feeling that they were of one mind was impossible to ignore. The genetic test results were ironclad proof, too.
What's it like to have another you who's identical in every way except for your designation and age?
Thanks for asking, but Atobe Keigo doesn't want to answer. He turns to leave, only for the other him to pull him back.
"What? Can't own up to it? My dear soulmate, my beloved 'self'?"
Atobe Keigo tries to look away, but when he sees their two mental manifestations cuddling together beside them, his expression changes drastically.
"... What are you doing? Get off that stupid tiger already!"
Unable to endure the other him's teasing gaze, the arrogant king makes a hasty retreat.
As everyone knows, a mental manifestation is the clearest reflection of one's innermost will.
So, even though Atobe Keigo loves roses most of all and is vain and full of himself, he really does love 'himself.'
Blurb Two:
In broad daylight, at the U17 training camp, a guy with no past who seems to have appeared out of nowhere suddenly barges in. This brash young man leads his mighty tiger and bulldozes through all the minor players, then points his racket straight at the ruler of the courts. He even holds his own against them, playing with ease and composure.
The most absurd part? This guy can summon a spirit to possess him.
Good news: the spirit isn't a real god, just his future self.
Bad news: he seems to have an almost limitless supply of blue bar. He looks like he's on his last legs, then suddenly levels up again in the blink of an eye.
Are they grinding some kind of video game boss? Invincible health, a red health bar, and a three-stage transformation?
When the battle ends, everyone looks at the wrecked courts and can only ask, "Who on earth is this guy?"
"Since you've asked so earnestly, this great me will take pity on you and tell you." The blond young man slings his tennis bag over his shoulder and stands sideways, the sunlight casting a shadow before him.
"To protect the world from devastation?"
"To unite all peoples within our nation?"
"Uh, is it my turn? The charming and captivating villain?"
"What are you all going on about?" The blond young man rolls his eyes at them. "I'm Atobe, Atobe Keigo. I'm the new King of this court!"
Atobe Keigo feels that something is wrong. Very wrong.
Recently, some unfamiliar upperclassmen have started showing up at Hyotei Academy to observe their training. Even their former captain, who vanished after graduation, has been hanging around from time to time.
That would be strange enough, but ever since he was selected for U17, everyone at the training camp has been looking at him in the strangest way.
Is he some kind of plague to be avoided?
Blond Atobe looks up at the sky: This great me knows nothing~
Tips:
Atobe Keigo (17) x Atobe Keigo (14). Note: this is a romance between alternate-universe counterparts!
Third year of high school x third year of junior high
Atobe Keigo from a parallel world (blond, side-parted hair. Yes, that unconventional hairstyle! Look at the cover! He can look incredibly handsome with it!) x Atobe Keigo (purple hair, middle part)
Many Hyotei plotlines will change, with the whole cast powering up and Atobe evolving beyond his limits.
Adding some Sentinel-Guide elements.
(Our great Atobe is so perfect, he could be any designation! So naturally, one Sentinel and one Guide is totally fitting~)
And now that we've added Sentinel-Guide elements, the princes' fantasy tennis makes perfect sense, right?
