It was only after his mother died that Ming Yin learned he wasn't a poor resident of Xiaoling Town, but the real young master of the Ming family in Jiangcheng.

He left the small town, nervous yet hopeful, and returned to his real home, only to find that he no longer fit in.

His parents cared more about Ming Juezhi, the boy they'd raised for seventeen years. He seemed innocent and carefree, and even if it was an act, everyone favored him.

Ming Yin was an outsider in this family. He'd been disappointed, but he wouldn't force himself to pursue what he couldn't have.

Except for Xu Boheng...

Perhaps because the voice with which he comforted Ming Juezhi that day was so beguiling, Ming Yin stood outside the hospital room as his shameful obsession grew out of control.

He watched the other man's retreating figure and couldn't stop thinking: He wanted this man to look at him. He wanted to steal the only affection he gave to anyone.

Unfortunately, the moon was beyond his reach. Ming Yin tried every possible way to get close to him, but kept hitting a wall.

He thought, bitter and unwilling to give up: I should have been standing by your side all along.

Then one day, at a party, he saw Xu Boheng's car outside a karaoke bar.

In a foul mood, Ming Yin went up to provoke him. “Here to pick up your darling childhood-friend little brother again?”

Xu Boheng lit a cigarette and looked at him through the hazy smoke. “I'm here to pick you up.”

*

When Xu Boheng opens his eyes again, he has returned to a time when everything was still as it should be. The first thing he does is go see Ming Yin.

Looking at that long-missed face, the one that had tormented him every moment, Xu Boheng's hand trembles so much he can barely hold his cigarette. Yet he thinks with cold, desperate intensity: This time, I will never, ever let him leave my side again.

A stubborn, prickly underdog bottom × an arrogant, cold, unhinged top

Reader's Guide:

1. The top is reborn and goes off the rails.

2. I like bittersweet romance; some plot points may be melodramatic.

3. Both are virgins; strictly one-on-one.

4. The fake young master isn't a very good person.

5. This is not a groveling-ex story. The writing is average; see the first chapter for more.

Blurb for But I Don't Like Alphas

Wen Mier grew up in an orphanage as a beta. One day, he is adopted by a wealthy businessman from Haishi.

The couple who adopt him have an alpha son his age, Zhao Lingli.

Unfortunately, their first meeting goes badly.

The alpha thinks his parents brought Wen Mier home to keep him in line, and treats him poorly.

To live peacefully in his new home, Wen Mier has to juggle managing his life while finding time to smooth the dog's fur.

He does a great job of smoothing the dog's fur, and Zhao Lingli's attitude toward him finally begins to change.

But their relationship slowly starts to veer off course.

Then one night, Wen Mier has a strange dream...

He dreams that he's just a cannon-fodder character in this world. Betas and alphas together are against the natural order, and in the end Zhao Lingli can't resist the attraction between alphas and omegas and marks an omega. Wen Mier is nothing to him, and can only meet a miserable end.

-

Zhao Lingli thinks there's something off about the beta his parents adopted. He suspects Wen Mier likes him.

Whenever Wen Mier looks at him, his eyes are always moist, and he's always going out of his way to get close.

At first, Zhao Lingli thinks: I like omegas. Wen Mier doesn't stand a chance.

Later, Zhao Lingli thinks: Everyone else's partner checks up on them. Why doesn't he call to check up on me?! [resentful husband face]

Certain that Wen Mier loves him desperately, Zhao Lingli's behavior grows increasingly out of control. He firmly insists on breaking off the engagement his family arranged, even if it means falling out with them.

But the next morning, he wakes up to find his marked fiancée in his bed.

His face turns deathly pale. He stumbles out the door and learns that Wen Mier will soon be leaving Haishi.

He chases after him like a madman, wanting to demand an explanation but unable to speak. His throat feels rough, as if he's swallowed bitter melon, and his heart is full of panic.

Wen Mier looks at him with clear black-and-white eyes, perfectly calm.

“We both got what we wanted. Did you really think I was serious?”

“Besides, I don't like alphas. I can't accept a boyfriend who might be controlled by instinct at any moment.”

Zhao Lingli's mind goes blank. His teeth chatter with cold. He can't hear anything else; only one thought remains: You want a boyfriend who won't be controlled by instinct? Easy. All he has to do is stop being an alpha.

So he returns, looking calm, and cuts out his own gland with his own hands.

A gentle, level-headed, detached bottom × a young master who becomes a devoted husband

Reader's Guide:

1. Both are virgins. The top hasn't slept with anyone, and he isn't the one who marked her. He and his fiancée had never met before and have no feelings for each other. Happy ending. Not suited to fans who are exclusively devoted to either character.

2. Bittersweet romance, with a little groveling.

3. There may be some plot holes.

4. More details to come.

Theme: Stay positive and keep moving forward
