Xin Yi spent ten days in the pitch-black underground. She saw a man in white robes performing some sort of dark ritual inside an upside-down building, and in her panic, smashed through the rock and fled.

After finally finding somewhere to rest, she watched the river before her begin flowing backward. The white-robed man she'd just seen waved his hand and sent a meteor crashing down, completely reshaping the landscape around them.

Xin Yi screamed inwardly. Had she offended a god?

Thankfully, this was a forgiving god. After accepting Xin Yi's offering, he not only forgave her, but also agreed to help her find a way home.

So when the god suggested they travel together, she agreed without hesitation.

A mortal and a god traveled east together. They met all sorts of strange gods and gently taught them how to love properly, until at last they found the way home.

Xin Yi was reluctant to part, but she missed her family and friends on the other side, so she said goodbye to the god.

"Mr. Zhongli, could you tell me your title? I'll save up to have a huge golden statue made in your honor, so everyone can worship you."

The god told her his name, but declined her offer.

He took Xin Yi's hand and confessed his feelings to her.

If you asked the merchants of Liyue Harbor who their favorite customer was, Zhongli, the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor consultant, would certainly be at the top of the list.

He never haggled, bought whatever caught his eye, and paid quickly. Who wouldn't like him?

But he never carried any money, which led a certain white flying creature to complain that he ought to have starved to death by now.

Wait, then where did his money come from?

The answer lies at Bubu Pharmacy, below Yujing Terrace. There, Everlasting Incense sells for three million Mora, enough to cover the little white flyer’s food for ten months.

One of the owners is Mr. Zhongli's wife, a strange-looking young woman.

By any measure, Lumine could tell the two of them weren't from the same world.

The girl gave her a surprised look. "How did you know I'm not from this world?"

As someone who transmigrated into this world, Isis decided to open a dessert shop after graduating from the Akademiya.

After learning about the neighboring nation of Liyue, she immediately went there to continue her studies. She met many interesting people and got plenty of suggestions for her desserts.

Of course, she also kept in touch with Alhaitham regularly, often writing him several pages at a time.

Five years passed this way. Isis returned to Sumeru and opened a dessert shop near the Akademiya with her savings and an investment from Dunyarzad.

After things settled down, she learned a secret while drinking with Kaveh.

Alhaitham had been in love with her for a long time.

Although Isis was the same age as Alhaitham, she was technically his upperclassman. Still, this upperclassman needed her junior's help to get through every term's assignments and exams.

In return, Isis often made him delicious food that wouldn't keep him from reading.

She always thought they were just friends. When she first met Alhaitham, he often made subtle, sarcastic remarks about her. Later, perhaps he'd given up on her, because he stopped making those comments.

When she left Sumeru for Liyue, he was just as calm as ever, only reminding her to remember to write.

Isis thought Kaveh was joking and didn't respond.

His face was expressionless, but what he said was startling.

"Knowing you, I need to say this to your face for you to understand how I feel."

"Isis, I love you."

Alhaitham had always thought that if something belonged to him, he could claim it whenever he wanted, and that included love.

Until Isis frankly said she had no interest in dating or getting married, while all kinds of men and women who admired her flocked around her, her dessert shop flourished, and a foreign opera singer boldly professed their love for her.

He thought that when it came to love, it was better to make the first move.
