I'll Break Up with My Dentist Boyfriend After I Get My Teeth Fixed (On Hiatus for Six Months)

He broke up with his dentist boyfriend after getting his teeth fixed

Three months after the breakup, Jiang Yubai sat by the floor-to-ceiling window of his apartment, sadly watching the sunset. After thinking it over, he declared:

"I'm never dating another girlfriend who comes to me for dental work!"

His friend asked why.

"I fixed eight of her teeth for free, pulled three wisdom teeth, and then she dumped me."

His friend asked, "Why did you do it for free?"

Because...

Her eyes, bright as stars in the sunset, had stirred his heart. His hand trembled as he held her soft cheek. "Would you... let me pull those two cavities and replace them with implants, then remove that impacted wisdom tooth?"

He told his friend that if he ever dated again, he'd find an orthodontic patient. At least then, they'd be together for two years.

Xia Zhiyu fell in love at first sight with the senior who gave the graduation speech at her university. At last, she found the place where he worked after graduation and engineered a chance encounter, hoping to confess her feelings.

She went to see him every day, gazing at him with affection and following him around like a shadow.

At last, the senior spoke to her.

"Are you here to get dental work done?"

"...Yes."

She thought getting her teeth pulled was a test he was putting her through, so she gritted her teeth and endured root canal after root canal. The sensation of the drill burrowing into her brain was unforgettable.

After half a year of flirting (and dating), they often left work together to have dinner and enjoy romantic evenings beneath the moon. He touched his own cheek and, with deep feeling, spoke of the cruel things he wanted to do: dental implants and wisdom tooth extractions.

Suddenly, beneath those pale jade fingers, the holes in her teeth, haunted by the memory of being tormented with forceps by several male dentists, began to ache phantom pains. She fled in panic, giving up on the love she had pursued for so long.

Xia Zhiyu was miserable after the breakup too. She went drinking with a friend, ran into trouble, and was rescued from a thug's harassment by a gallant hero clad in shining white armor.

Alone together in a room, she opened her eyes to find a handsome man lying beside her.

"Xia Zhiyu, why did you break up with me?"

That white armor was clearly a work uniform! The nightmare had returned!

She wailed, "I don't want my wisdom teeth pulled! I don't want implants! I don't want to like you anymore!"

The icy look on Jiang Yubai's face melted away completely. He smiled, handsome as Song Yu. She stared at him in a daze as he said, "You're still afraid of pain. How about I stay by your side for the rest of my life?"
