Yun Shu grew up poor. Her cruel father sold her to a brothel, forcing her into a life of prostitution.
Born with an irresistible allure, she could make princes and nobles fall at her feet with a single glance. After spending every day in the pleasure quarters, she had seen far too much false affection and had long forgotten what genuine love looked like.
On the day soldiers raided the brothel, she was dancing for a wealthy young master.
The young master narrowed his eyes and stared at her greedily, practically drooling.
Yun Shu knew exactly what he was thinking. She had seen that look countless times and paid it no mind.
The soldiers burst into the private room, frightening the young master until his legs shook, while Yun Shu remained calm.
The officer in charge was refined and courteous. Seeing her barely dressed, he hurriedly looked away and draped his own outer robe over her shoulders.
Yun Shu couldn't remember what he looked like that day. She only remembered the gentle voice above her: "From now on, miss, you needn't linger in the pleasure quarters."
If Yun Shu had no secrets hidden in her heart, she would have been grateful to this gentleman.
Unfortunately, she was an undercover guard for the Prince of Beiwu.
Her mission was to assassinate the gentleman standing before her.
The fish had already taken the bait.
