My Husband Is Frail and Sickly

Cen Shubai got married. His spouse was gentle and courteous, a charming gentleman and a regular in the pages of financial magazines.

When asked why he was getting married, his spouse replied, "I'm in poor health. My parents gave birth to me but never raised me, and once I was an adult, they treated me like an ATM. I hope the first heir in line can have a strong competitor."

Looking at the handsome face, drained of color, and hearing the soft voice punctuated by coughs, Cen Shubai's heart softened, and he agreed.

They agreed to be each other's most reliable live-in roommates.

On their first day living together, Mr. Jiang came down with a fever. Even though he was delirious, he smiled and told Cen Shubai not to worry and to go to work as usual.

Cen Shubai looked at their marriage certificate, took leave to bring his new husband to the hospital, and checked on him throughout his time off.

During their first week together, Mr. Jiang had an allergic reaction that caused gastroenteritis. He was vomiting, suffering from diarrhea, and deathly pale.

Cen Shubai, the culprit: ...

As a responsible adult, he apologized and immediately took Mr. Jiang to the hospital. He checked on him during his time off, too, and carefully learned all about Mr. Jiang's daily habits.

During their first month together, Mr. Jiang got heatstroke and had to deal with his gambling-addict father showing up to demand money. He was also completely unwilling to drag Cen Shubai into it.

Cen Shubai rolled up his sleeves and threw the gambling addict out, then briskly took Mr. Jiang to the hospital and signed his name as family with practiced ease.

Although Mr. Jiang was frail and often sick and needed extra care, he was everything Cen Shubai could hope for in a lifelong partner, even as a live-in roommate.

He hoped Mr. Jiang would stay healthy and grow old with him.

On the way back from praying at a temple, Cen Shubai passed a gym. Through the bright glass, he saw a familiar figure doing multiple sets of bench presses with 100 kilograms. His defined abs stood out, and his V-line disappeared beneath his black shorts.

"???"

He had suggested that Mr. Jiang exercise more, but wasn't this progress a little too fast?
