Leo won a spot in the holographic closed beta for Assassin Simulator. Overjoyed, he started the game without a second thought.
Then he transmigrated along with the System.
The good news: his character, skills, health bar, weapons, and gear were all still there.
The bad news: he hadn't realized any of that.
New York, the Battle of New York.
A black hole opened in the blue sky, and aliens poured out of it like dumplings dropping into a pot.
[Limited-Time Map Event: Battle for the City, Now Live]
The player accepts the mission.
The player keeps climbing Stark Tower.
The player crouches at Hawkeye's vantage point. A sound effect plays, and the map syncs.
Beside him, the real Hawkeye, carrying a bow and arrows: "...Hello? Shouldn't you be hiding in a shelter down below?"
The player glances at this green-name NPC.
The player ignores him.
The player eyes the red-name mobs marked on the map, rubs his hands together, and makes a Leap of Faith.
Hawkeye is instantly horrified: "??!!!"
*
The player unlocks a new map: [Gotham].
The player follows an important NPC, waits for the cutscene, then enters a famous hidden dungeon.
The player enters [The Batcave].
The player scrambles up the rock wall on all fours.
The player hangs beneath a stalactite, swinging back and forth and hopping around until he startles a swarm of bats.
The player miscontrols his character and falls into the water.
Glug, glug...
Batman silently watches, looking utterly at a loss for words, as the player climbs out soaking wet, dries off in three seconds, then repeatedly presses his body and face against the Batmobile, wriggling around the driver's-side window.
The player tries to get in, but fails.
The player starts to wonder: Why hasn't the prompt "Press E to enter vehicle" appeared yet?
Robin also falls silent for a long while. "...I think he might really need to go to Arkham Asylum."
The player hears the name of a new dungeon and immediately turns around, eyes shining!
"I'm going! Of course I'm going!!!"

The assassin missions assigned by the System: [Stealth] [Assassinate Wanted Red-Name Targets] [Increase Personal Notoriety]...
What the player actually does: [100% City Exploration] [Collect All Superhero Entries] [Killing Everyone Is Perfect Stealth] [Thief Simulator] [Farm Villain Points] [Get Arrested]...
* The player's morals are very flexible. A standard Fourth Disaster.
* When meeting a new NPC, always get right in their face and try to trigger dialogue.
* When encountering an NPC with a visible health bar...
I don't know why I'm attacking you either, but your health bar is showing! (Player scratching his head.jpg)
* The System is dedicated to protecting player rights. This includes, but is not limited to, providing various mods, adding new ways to play, and reminding the player to at least dress like a person when running all over the world. (:
