[May make minor revisions, but the core premise will stay the same]
As the son of a Crime Syndicate leader, Joey Lyle is ordered to go undercover in the multiverse and provide support for the grand plan of conquering the world.
...The evil supervillain is me!
But when he first arrives on this Earth, he has no kryptonite to replenish his energy. After finally hearing that Gotham City gets the weakest yellow sunlight, he arrives only to be captured and dragged into the legendary Batcave on his second day.

The System falls silent for a moment. [...Actually, you don't necessarily have to break into someone's kryptonite vault.]
[How about using the trust of this world's superheroes to exchange for an equivalent amount of power?]
.
Everything goes surprisingly smoothly after that. Aside from one certain dark, brooding guy refusing to give him anything, his superpowers really are slowly recovering.
But obviously, if anyone finds out he's from an evil mirror universe, he'll go straight to the top of the superheroes' watchlist. So Joey has no choice but to painstakingly come up with a cover plan:
[An unhappy past can help you brush off a lot of questions.]
[Don't reveal that you're a green kryptonite enthusiast.]
[Humans are extremely evil creatures. Only absolute power can protect you... Though maybe it's okay to let them pat your head once in a while.]
[And, above all, never forget that your father and his bird-headed strategist are still tracking you at all times.]
A stray puppy from the Crime Syndicate, super fierce!
Earth-3's Superboy character setup.
So he has no no-kill rule, and never will. ( )

Theme: The tree of life stays evergreen.
