“At first, she was a caged bird he couldn’t keep locked up. Later, she became a butterfly he could never catch. In that one second, every spring in his life faded away.”
The complete novel costs only as much as a cup of milk tea. Wishing all the dear readers who support the official release lasting prosperity! [I’ll be revising the story obsessively later, so the pirated version and the official version on Jinjiang won’t match at all. Please have some decency.]
*Scheming pursuit → breakup and lingering obsession → regret and a long, painful attempt to win her back
*Financier × female documentary filmmaker
*Wolf in sheep’s clothing, rich playboy × pure, resilient college student. He thinks it’s true love, but he’s actually a pervert...
1. Su Tang first met Shen Yiqing at a billiards club in Beijing, where property prices were astronomical. A group of wealthy young men from prominent families had gathered upstairs. Downstairs, while working a part-time job, she was cornered by a jerk. In her panic, a tall, refined, distinguished man came down the stairs and stood behind her, taking her side. “Mr. Lu wants you upstairs.”
His powerful, untouchable status was enough to make the man back down without another word.
Gentle and refined, he made a good impression on Su Tang. Though she knew they were worlds apart, she still fell helplessly into an unhealthy relationship with him.
But she didn’t know it wasn’t the first time they’d met.
In a smoke-filled private room, a friend teased Shen Yiqing: “Keep those little thoughts of yours under wraps, or one day you’ll get burned.”
And sure enough, that was exactly what happened...
2. On Shen Yiqing’s birthday, a major incident shook Beijing’s upper-class circles. The young heir, who had only recently risen to power at Jingmao Group, turned the city upside down as he searched all night for a woman. She came back, stabbed him in the back, then ran off again. A friend teased him, “What are you going to do now that your ‘bird’ has flown away?”
Shen Yiqing picked up the ashtray and brushed the ash from his fingertips, then shrugged with a casual smile. “I’ll catch her before she gets too far. A little freedom is good for a bird’s mental health.”
He was sure he had everything under control, but instead he received an invitation to Su Tang’s engagement party with someone else...
On a cold night of torrential rain, he knelt in front of her, sobbing uncontrollably.
“Why?”
The woman’s gaze was cold.
“Because he’s gentler than you.”
Her icy words pierced Shen Yiqing’s heart like a sharp blade.
He laughed bitterly at himself.
“Just because he’s willing to kneel down and wipe your shoes?”
He crawled forward on his knees and humbly took her hand.
“I’m willing to do that, too. If you’ll come back, I’ll do anything. Even if... you don’t break up with him, I won’t mind.”
P.S.:
*Happy ending~
*Scheming pursuit → breakup and lingering obsession → regret and a long, painful attempt to win her back
*This is my personal favorite kind of story. Due to the subject matter, there’s a fake-replacement trope, plenty of melodrama, and a little wall-slamming. Important: neither lead is perfect, and he really does have a painful road to redemption. The heroine becomes intimate with the second male lead later on. If that bothers you, feel free to skip this one, but don’t read it just to complain.
*I write part-time, and I take it seriously, but it’s exhausting, so please don’t leave irresponsible snap judgments, invent plot points to criticize, offer unsolicited writing advice, or make personal attacks...
*There are other completed stories on my author page. Love you all (heart)~

Theme: May we cross a thousand waves and, in the end, remain by the side of the one we love.
I still hate Lu Yu so much... As soon as I see him appear, I want to rush into the screen and punch him a few times.
Wow wow wow 🤩 What a surprise!!! (?ω?)
Can I dream about a little extra? 😳
I changed my name, I almost couldn't find it 😏

I posted my crazy daily life in Xiaohongshu: it's really well written. It's a wife-chasing crematorium that I can accept. In the first part, the female protagonist was hurt so much that she finally woke up and decided to leave the male protagonist. I thought the female protagonist was miserable and the male protagonist was such a scumbag. In the middle part, the female protagonist started a new life and tried new relationships and careers. The male protagonist showed off all kinds of things to increase his presence in front of the female protagonist, but the female protagonist was annoying him to death. I was also very annoyed with the male protagonist. In the later part, the male protagonist was humbled and begged to get back together, but the female protagonist was unmoved and didn't want to give him a look. But the male protagonist was really so humble that he was as low as dust, which made me feel so pitiful. I wanted to forgive him for the female protagonist [laughing and crying R]. All in all, it is a wife-chasing crematorium that I can accept. I hate the kind of crematorium where the heroine is tortured to death in the early stage, and the male protagonist coaxes the heroine back with a few sweet words in the later stage. Is the heroine such a mean person that she can forgive those who hurt her so easily?
