A Nobody, But I Ended Up on a Blind Date with the Protagonist

Blurb:

Li Huanhuan is 26 years old, a minor character in a book. At a matchmaking meeting, she meets the protagonist.

Qin Shi is the protagonist of the book, an esports prodigy and hugely popular player. He has broad shoulders, long legs, striking looks, and an eight-pack, and he is two years younger than her.

At their first meeting, Qin Shi's friend mistakes her for an "auntie."

Li Huanhuan thinks the protagonist probably isn't interested in her either.

The next day, Qin Shi calls her. "I heard you told your aunt that I have high standards and wasn't interested in you?"

Li Huanhuan: "..."

Wasn't that the case?

Still, she gives him a sincere apology.

Qin Shi: "I hate being slandered."

Li Huanhuan: "?"

Qin Shi: "Come out. I'll buy you dinner. We'll take a photo and send it to them. I won't let anyone tarnish my reputation."

Their second meeting goes no better.

Li Huanhuan is childhood friends with Qin Shi's archenemy, Fox, the villain in the book. Qin Shi sees a photo of them together, and his attitude turns icy.

When he ignores her, Li Huanhuan assumes the matchmaking is over and continues meeting other candidates.

She meets her next match at a restaurant and runs into Qin Shi again.

After not seeing each other for days, Qin Shi acts even stranger.

Li Huanhuan greets him, but he coolly walks away. Two minutes later, he comes back, forcing down his anger as he gives her a choice: pick him, or he'll tell Fox that she's been going on matchmaking dates behind his back.

Li Huanhuan thinks Qin Shi has lost his mind.

Qin Shi glares at her with red-rimmed eyes, and they part on bad terms, at least as far as he's concerned.

At last, Li Huanhuan's life settles down. She stays home, plays with her cat, and goes back to being a minor character. But Qin Shi moves in next door with his dog.

When Qin Shi accidentally breaks a bone and can't take care of himself, Li Huanhuan is asked by their elders to look after him for a while.

Lately, Li Huanhuan has noticed that Qin Shi's gaze is getting stranger and stranger.

One day, Qin Shi corners her in the bathroom. "Stop going on matchmaking dates. Aren't my abs defined enough?"

Li Huanhuan is stunned. "Are you having some kind of episode?"

Qin Shi: "I like you."

How could the protagonist fall for a minor character?

Li Huanhuan doesn't believe him. She waits for the day Qin Shi regrets it, but she also turns down the matchmaking dates her family arranges.

Instead of waiting for the plot to correct itself and Qin Shi to take back his words, she finds both their families sitting down together to discuss her wedding to Qin Shi.
