A Love Story with a Phantom Thief

[Fast-paced romance]

Xingye Xi has loved shiny things since she was little: twinkling stars, dazzling gems, and radiant people.

She vows to own a planet of her own, become a great gemologist, and date the most popular person around.

She's already achieved the first goal, and is still working toward the second. But even after entering her second year of high school, she has no idea how to accomplish the third, until she meets Kaitou Kid, the magician in the moonlight, the brightest flash of white in the night.

Xingye Xi thinks, I want him.

-

After two years as classmates, Kuroba Kaito's impression of Xingye Xi is that she's beautiful, polite, quiet, and distant.

So when she shows such vivid expressions, feverish eyes, and relentless pursuit at the scene of a jewel theft, he is astonished. Curious to see how the pearl shines when it blooms, he accepts her invitation.

-

An ambitious artist would never pass up a gem that caught their eye. Xingye Xi is like that, and so is the phantom thief.

Naturally, they fall in love.

But no one ever taught Xingye Xi how to appreciate a gem when what's beneath its dazzling exterior is still a rough stone.

And no one ever told Kuroba Kaito that he can't win the heart of the same person under two different identities.

[Read before you start!!!]

One-on-one romance. A devoted fan of the "I'm jealous of myself" trope. Doesn't follow the main plot. I'm just having fun with the cast of characters, and the focus is on romance. There'll be a little gem trivia.

(I might change the title if I think of something better.)

Theme: No one can claim a gem as their own through love alone.
