Born of Gold and Jade, Consort of Demons

Monsters and demons run rampant across the kingdom. At night, ghosts wail; by day, the sky is dark. Thousands of miles of land lie strewn with starving corpses.

A beggar child in the city slams his head against the gate, laughing and crying as he shouts, "We're all going to die! Every one of us!"

The earth shakes in the northern capital, and a smooth, eyeless giant serpent burrows out from underground, bringing forth one bizarre and absurd tale after another.

The foreign god worshipped in the Southern Ridges descends into the world, while dazzling auroras appear over the Eastern Sea. It's said that someone saw the Heavenly Mountains there.

The whole land is in chaos. Yet the emperor in the capital lives a life of drunken indulgence and extravagant debauchery. The court is full of music and dance, and only the person beside him in bed knows why his father repeatedly warned her, pointing at her husband: The kingdom may be lost, but he must never go hungry...

A storyteller in the city hides his face beneath a bamboo hat and leisurely recounts absurd events, the red scales beneath his eyes glinting with an eerie light. The audience treats it all as a joke. Only he knows that this world has long ceased to belong to humankind.
