He Shichuan is the White Tower's only super-S-rank Sentinel. Along with the S-rank Guide Jian Xing, he is known as one of the White Tower's twin stars. Together, they venture deep into the most dangerous contaminated zones, undefeated and unstoppable.
Until Jian Xing dies on an extremely dangerous mission, leaving He Shichuan's mental landscape sealed and him on the verge of going berserk.
With the twin stars about to fall, the White Tower searches its database and finds Jiang Yan, a student who has just become an advanced Guide, based on their compatibility.
Jiang Yan is a newly promoted A-rank Guide.
During his internship, he becomes the temporary Guide to the White Tower's strongest Sentinel. He has to seize this opportunity to secure his position so he can pay for his younger sister's medical treatment.
Even if He Shichuan, a Sentinel chauvinist, doesn't take him seriously at all.
Eager to return to the extremely dangerous contaminated zone as soon as possible,
He Shichuan wantonly takes Jiang Yan's sweet Guide pheromones. During guidance, he even forcibly traps Jiang Yan in his mental landscape, and Jiang Yan's spirit animal is no exception: He Shichuan's spirit animal dominates it and licks it.
In the end, He Shichuan even gives him an arrogant appraisal:
"You're only an A-rank."
Unable to receive proper training from the System, Jiang Yan gives his Sentinel whatever he wants, focused on securing a permanent position.
Until one day, during an outdoor mission, He Shichuan, who should have stayed by his side, dashes off after seeing someone's back. Jiang Yan wakes up in the hospital after being injured and overhears his colleagues whispering.
"I can't believe Jian Xing didn't die. That's the twin stars for you. What a shame about that other guy, though. Such a pathetic simp, and he ended up with nothing."
Jiang Yan: ...
Work is already annoying enough. Don't insult my character, okay?!
He Shichuan notices that Jiang Yan has changed.
He used to smile sweetly during guidance. Now, all he offers is a cool, perfunctory soothing.
He used to let He Shichuan hold the tip of his tongue without resisting. Now, he'll only hold hands, and not even with their fingers intertwined!
The Sentinel, used to taking whatever he wants, steals kisses of Guide pheromones and even forcibly enters Jiang Yan's mental landscape. The usually gentle and forgiving Guide gets so furious that he slaps him and demands to know which one of them is the dog.
The powerful, brutal super-S-rank Sentinel, who is domineering in public, kneels before his Guide with his knees spread, panting roughly with desire.
"I'm your dog."
But three months later, the gong intercepts two documents.
One is Jiang Yan's official appointment to a permanent position at the White Tower.
The other is a request to change Sentinels.
1. The gong is a virgin, and his relationship with Jian Xing is platonic. Jian Xing may have one-sided feelings for the shou.
2. The shou is somewhat snarky, and is also an oblivious, seductive type who gets coaxed into letting the gong take his tongue, thinking it's a normal part of guidance. He has a working stiff's mentality, so he won't suffer much.
3. The gong evolves from an arrogant, self-important chauvinist to a man who breaks down and pursues his wife, then into a man with an extreme possessive streak, ultimately achieving the "I told you so" moment.
