I Inherited My Comrade's Widow [ABO]

Humanity endured its darkest hour when the alien species arrived. The ABO races evolved and rose up to fight back.

After the crawling species were driven back on a massive scale, they went into hiding. The Mobile Investigation Unit formed a multilayered shield to protect humanity.

The day after Jiang Ciyao received news of his husband's death, Song Chen showed up at his door in the wind and rain, looking like a huge, drenched dog.

He turned his head away and wouldn't look at Jiang Ciyao, but said he was taking him home.

Jiang Ciyao was stunned. They had worked together for three years, and he had never known Song Chen was his late husband's comrade-in-arms.

Song Chen, captain of the Divine Eagle Assault Team, was a man of few words and formidable combat ability.

Jiang Ciyao knew him only through the routine psychological evaluations he administered every month and the same old test results.

And through his strange condition: despite being a top-tier Alpha, he had no interest in Omegas.

When Jiang Ciyao's community was attacked by the crawling species, he weighed his options and took his pet to Song Chen's place.

He became its first visitor.

And, incidentally, got to know another side of Captain Song in private.

After months together, Jiang Ciyao was certain that Song Chen's patience and exceptions for him were all because of his late husband.

It wasn't until the supposedly passionless Alpha, eyes reddened, bit the back of his neck that Jiang Ciyao finally understood Song Chen's true intentions.

It was a long-laid plan, a desire impossible to satisfy.

Little scene:

As part of his treatment, Jiang Ciyao once hypnotized Song Chen to test his limits.

"Where is your safe place, soldier?"

He tried again and again, and failed every time, until he began to doubt his own abilities.

What he didn't know was that Song Chen's safe place was Jiang Ciyao's home from before he got married. That day, the taciturn soldier hid in his courtyard, greedily watching the Omega leisurely read in the sunroom.

One second, two seconds, three seconds.

That was the source of his invincible strength.

Every murmur Song Chen uttered under hypnosis was Jiang Ciyao's name.
