An Intern Immortal

I've heard of Ox-Head and Horse-Face getting someone's soul by mistake, but never of the Upper Realm accidentally making someone an immortal.

I've heard people are overjoyed when they're brought back to life. But being made an immortal by mistake? Tao Xiaosu says, "This enormous stroke of fortune has landed on my head, and I'm absolutely not going back down. I was born to be an immortal. If that doesn't work out, I'll take a temporary position, or become a contract immortal. I'll wait until I can pass the immortal registry exam."

The High Immortal didn't want to admit his mistake, so he calculated Tao Xiaosu's fate and sent her off to a dilapidated little temple in the desolate Western Wilderness to serve as an apprentice immortal for three thousand years!

Theme: When you make a wish, the result is what matters. The process doesn't.
