Three Thousand Years Exiled to the Mortal World

Qu Xingwan is devoted to saving money for retirement. The women in her family all die of a strange hereditary illness in their forties, and she wants to live comfortably before her time is up.

One rainy night, an injured owl deliberately crashes onto her balcony. Faced with a nationally protected animal, Qu Xingwan doesn't dare leave it untreated.

In the middle of the night, Qu Xingwan gets up to check on the owl. The woozy little owl opens its beak and calls her "Dad."

Um, I got up too quickly. I'm hearing things. I'll come back in a bit.

The little owl doesn't speak again. It gets better day by day, acting cute and clinging to her, with none of the ominous air of an ill-omened bird.

Once the little owl has recovered, Qu Xingwan plans to release it. The little owl clings to the doorframe with both claws and cries out, "Dad, don't abandon me again!"

Looking at the midday sun, Qu Xingwan can no longer use the excuse that she got up too quickly... But she's a woman! Is this little owl blind?
