All of Hyotei Is Waiting for Hiyoshi to Confess

Blurb:

Hiyoshi Wakashi, a regular player on Hyotei's tennis team, has a childhood friend.

Everyone knows that Fujino Rika and her idiot childhood friend are incredibly close.

Close enough that if they ever got together, everyone would probably just calmly congratulate them.

"Hiyoshi Wakashi! You borrowed my handkerchief yesterday. Where is it?"

Sure enough, during a break in tennis practice, Fujino Rika easily found Hiyoshi Wakashi by the court.

"I left it in our usual spot."

"Which usual spot?"

"Where we waited for a UFO together last night. I'll go with you to buy a new one after school."

Oshitari Yuushi, silently watching from nearby, was a devoted romance novel fan. Unable to help himself, he pushed up his glasses and sighed, "You even stargaze together after club activities. How romantic."

"We weren't stargazing. This guy told me that whoever saw a UFO first could make the other person pay for dinner." Fujino Rika stared blankly at Oshitari. "In the end, we never saw a UFO, but the mosquitoes got a good meal out of us. Don't you think we're so unlucky, Senpai?"

"No, I think I'm more unlucky." Noticing his junior's gaze, Oshitari Yuushi answered honestly.

"What? Are you interested in UFOs, Senpai? We can invite you next time."

"No, no, I'm not interested at all, really!"

Watching Oshitari Yuushi frantically wave his hands in refusal, Fujino Rika formed a question mark.

"Rika?"

"Hm? What's wrong, idiot Wakashi?"

Hiyoshi Wakashi handed Fujino Rika his wallet. "I'm almost out of water. Can you buy me a sports drink? I'll treat you."

"I don't want you to treat me!"

Fujino Rika snatched the wallet and stormed off. She didn't bring Hiyoshi Wakashi his two sports drinks until just before the break ended.

Then there was the day Hiyoshi Wakashi heard that Fujino Rika had received a love letter. His face went frighteningly dark, and he swung his racket harder during practice. Luckily, it turned out to be a misunderstanding, and only then did he relax. He stubbornly insisted he simply thought she wasn't ready to date.

The Hyotei tennis team had this to say: "Hiyoshi, stop putting on a brave face and go confess already!"

Theme: The weather is sunny and bright today. A fine day for a confession.
