The Escape Game Where Romance Is the Only Ending

Infinite Terror is the hottest escape game of the year. So far, countless bad endings and a handful of true endings have been released.

They say even the top players in the horror-game community can't get the happy ending.

Xuan Zhenhe is from the romance-game community. When it comes to horror games, he's always been terrible at them but hopelessly addicted, constantly courting death.

After making a bet, he decides to take on this game. His goal is

Collect every bad ending!

A chainsaw maniac who kills at the drop of a hat, a thousand-year-old zombie in a walled village, a haunted house no one has ever survived...

Danger at every turn, rivers of blood, narrow escapes from death.

A huge number of players' names in the online dungeon have already gone gray on the first day.

Xuan Zhenhe also receives a mission card:

[1. Marry me

2. Date me

3. Agree to both of the above

4. Refuse the first three options, but drink a glass of milk before bed :)]

Xuan Zhenhe: ?

Got it. They're trying to poison me into a bad ending.

He drinks it without hesitation. It's warm and thoughtful.

He waits a long time, but there's no bad-ending result. His health even goes up by 10.

[Congratulations on achieving the Good Kid achievement. Boss affection +10]

The mission card keeps refreshing.

[1. Give me a kiss

2. Hold my hand

3. Do both at once

4. Refuse the above, but wear the blue hoodie I gave you :)]

Xuan Zhenhe: ?

Could the blue hoodie be a hint that I'm the target for an instant kill?

He puts it on obediently, ready to face his first bad ending.

Nothing happens. The only one who shows up is the boss, wearing the same blue top.

The boss grabs an innocent bystander who's trembling with fear and says with a smile, "What? How did you know we're wearing matching couple outfits?"

[Congratulations on achieving the First Matching Couple Outfit achievement. Boss affection +20]

I must be playing this game wrong!

Xuan Zhenhe starts courting death. He insults, mistreats, and bullies the other, hoping to make him hate him and give him a quick, satisfying bad ending.

At first:

[Why are you treating me this way? Did I do something wrong? :(]

Later:

[Why don't you treat anyone else this way? You must love me :)]

No matter what Xuan Zhenhe does, he always manages to get a romance ending in the escape game.

There's a featured strategy thread on the Infinite Terror forum that works backward to summarize every way to get a bad ending.

The poster, who lists all kinds of death endings, is furious:

Who on earth is winning this game?!

Xuan Zhenhe: Thanks for asking. I have six things to say about happy endings...
