Rumor had it that the legitimate daughter of the Chancellor's household, who was soon to enter the palace, was graceful and breathtakingly beautiful.

The next day, the Emperor said with a dark expression, "You truly are my finest ministers. Since the harem is full of consorts, why don't you each take one home and look after her properly?"

The harem was dismissed, and the ministers turned ashen. "Your Majesty, please reconsider!"

The Chancellor refused to give up on the Empress's throne. He schemed to use Yun Sui to send his legitimate daughter into the palace, but Yun Sui drank the prepared medicine instead. When he woke the next day, he kicked Xiao Su, who had been sleeping beside him, right out of bed.

Furious that his plans had been disrupted, the Emperor slammed the table. "Since the Chancellor wants to get closer to me, how about I make your beloved son my Empress? What do you think, Chancellor?"

The ministers were terrified but dared not defy him. "Your Majesty..."

The future Empress, holding a bowl of milk pudding and trying to decide how to apologize for his rudeness the night before, could only silently cry out in his heart, truly at a loss for words:

Your Majesty, please reconsider!!!
