Su Miaomiao of Class 2-1 is the school bully at Huai'an High School. No one dares to bully or provoke her. Stubbornly, she protects the little world she shares with her mother, Su Heng, in her own way, until transfer student Sang Ci suddenly enters their lives.

Seventeen-year-old Sang Ci transfers from Jiangcheng High School to the small town of Huai'an. Aloof and solitary, she rarely speaks and keeps to herself. On her very first day, her classmates play a cruel prank on her, soaking her from head to toe. Their young homeroom teacher doesn't dare make a big deal out of it, so she asks Su Miaomiao, who lives near the school, to take Sang Ci home to change into dry clothes. That's how Sang Ci meets Su Miaomiao's single mother, Su Heng.

Su Heng is gentle and kind, and little by little, she melts the cold, distant heart of Sang Ci.

But her love is not understood or accepted.

A friend she once cherished berates her: "I thought of you as a classmate, but you want to get with my mom?"

The woman who loves her back but doesn't dare admit it gently turns her down: "Xiao Ci, we're really not right for each other. Our ages, genders, life experiences... Just the fact that we're both women makes it impossible for us to be together. You're still young. Once you've seen more of the world, you'll realize I'm not worth a thing."

At the height of her love, Sang Ci leaves the town of Huai'an, determined to keep her promise: Wherever she goes, and no matter how many wonderful people she meets, her heart will always belong to that gentle, kind woman.
