The Sickly Couple of the Seventies

Lin Lan gets hit on the head and transmigrates into a book, becoming a sickly girl who is out of breath after just a few steps.

The heroine is her cousin, the hero is her fiance, and Lin Lan dies because she gets in the way of their happily-ever-after.

Break off the engagement!

Just as it looks like sickly Lin Lan will grow old unmarried, a matchmaker suddenly comes to propose a match with the youngest son of the neighboring brigade leader, who is too weak to do farmwork.

The Lin family couple refuse. What kind of life will two sickly people have if they end up together?

Lin Lan thinks it sounds fine. Neither of them can work, so neither can make fun of the other. And with better times on the horizon, they won't have to worry about going hungry no matter what they do.

Zhao Huaian is the youngest child in his family. He was frail as a child, so his whole family doted on him like a precious treasure and never made him lift a finger. As a result, the village is full of rumors that he is so sick he won't live past twenty, and that he will never find a wife.

By chance, a crooked matchmaker swindles them for money, tricking and cajoling the two sickly young people into marrying each other.
