Rules of the Strange: From the Start, I Drew a Wife

Song Yuqing never imagined she would become a player in a rules-horror-game livestream followed by hundreds of millions of viewers. Even less did she expect to be thrown from the start into a terrifying instance with a 99% death rate.

Unfortunately, she'd also lost her memory!

Even worse, while other people's skill cards were things like [Enhanced Stamina] and [Improved Mental Strength], the card she drew was a frail-looking woman whose summoning phrase was... "Wife, save me!"

Song Yuqing immediately put the card away. What a useless thing. She wouldn't use it even if it killed her.

Before long, Song Yuqing was forced into a dead end. Panicking, she shouted, "Wife, save me!!!"

The air froze. The pale-faced woman cupped her face, their breaths mingling. "Don't be afraid. I'll save you."

Only then did Song Yuqing learn the card's true name: [Rule Reversal].

The woman was weak and pale, yet seemed like a deity. With a subtle movement of her fingers, positive and negative switched, black and white turned upside down.

Then she smiled gently at Song Yuqing and turned back into a card in her hands.

Song Yuqing clutched the card to her chest. From then on, this was her one and only wife. No one was allowed to take her away!!

Later, Song Yuqing tugged at the pale woman's sleeve. "Wife, I still don't know your name."

"Wife, can you stay this way instead of turning back?"

"Wife, I want to hug you."

Watching a blush bloom across the woman's pale face, Song Yuqing giggled to herself.

After all, you were the one who told me to call you wife. Of course I have to say it often and say it well, until I find the tone and pronunciation you like best.

"Right, wife~"

A General Guide to Rules-Horror Games

1. Remember that you are human. Know what you are, and don't imagine you can become another species.

2. Search for as many rules as possible, but don't trust any rule too easily.

3. The more rules you break, the easier it is to attract "His" attention. "He" is an unspeakable being who will drag you into the abyss.

4. Always stay clear-headed and think independently.

5. Follow every rule you can find, and you will be able to leave alive. Otherwise, "He" will assimilate you, and you will be lost in the game world forever.

Finally, have fun!
