Even after being dragged through transmigration by the System, Mirage never once thought he should help the protagonist save the world.

Why should he sing the praises of love and peace in some place that has nothing to do with him?

So when the scammer System let him transform again, Mirage naturally started slacking off.

Monday: fight monsters and slack off.

Tuesday: fight monsters and keep slacking off.

Wednesday: slack off, then slack off some more.

Thursday...

Slack off, slack off, and then slack off some more.

What the future human operators are plotting has nothing to do with me.

Every now and then, he gives the protagonist of this world something to deal with. That's the whole daily routine of a demon who lives for mischief.

"Keep it up, Ace!"

Mirage fondled the Magnum he'd just swiped, then watched Ukiyo Ace struggle to fight monsters barehanded and gleefully tossed him a little Water Gun buckle.

The more the fox fought, the angrier he got.

In the end, he simply switched targets.

Mirage, hoisted up: ?

Hey, friend, you've got the wrong guy, don't you?

The Jyamato are over there!

(Don't worry, he'll remember to save people. This is just a little side incident.)

In short, the two of them were never destined to meet. It was all thanks to me being able to write.
