Long Yin transmigrated into a book.
From what she could remember before dying from staying up too late, she'd entered a power-fantasy cultivation novel with a male lead and no romance.
The male lead was the foremost disciple of an immortal sect, born with a sword bone.
Though a peerless genius, he was mild-mannered and well-liked by everyone.
To stop the Demon Ancestor from destroying the world, he trained and leveled up all the way, enduring countless hardships and deaths before finally killing the demon god Zi Sang Wugui.
Unfortunately, she was one of those countless casualties.
Long Yin immediately sensed trouble. Hoping to get on the male lead's good side, she made sure he saw her every day.
By day, she tried to approach him under the pretext of asking for cultivation advice, but accidentally twisted her ankle and fell straight into his arms. During an afternoon nap, her master asked her to deliver a meal. She volunteered, only to bring him the wrong food, meant for spirit beasts. Late one night, she caught him heading out. With no excuse to stop him, she blurted, "I want to discuss dual cultivation with you, Senior Brother!"
In short...
She forced herself into his line of sight.
In the end, she successfully latched onto him and earned his protection.
Her senior brother would occasionally cultivate with her, gently running a finger along her spine and asking if she had made any progress. Long Yin would endure the discomfort with tears in her eyes and think: It's fine. He's a genius, so it's normal for him to have some unusual little habits.
On the day of the great battle, everyone turned against him, accusing her senior brother of being the legendary world-ending demon god.
Long Yin argued fiercely: "That's nonsense! My senior brother could never be the world-ending demon god!"
She lifted her chin and turned to him with confidence. He answered with a gentle, harmless smile.
Only when her master arrived with the true male lead, lashing a whip around Long Yin's waist and pulling her back, did he shout, "Junior Sister, don't let him fool you! If you don't believe me, sense the aura around him. He's the Demon Ancestor!"
Long Yin hesitated and used her spiritual energy to investigate.
She stared blankly at the demonic aura around him, unable to speak.
The young man had no interest in fighting any longer. With a wave of his sleeve, he knocked everyone to the ground.
The Demon Ancestor's crushing presence descended. She struggled to breathe, sprawled on the ground. He stepped forward and embraced her intimately, not the least bit angry that his identity had been exposed. Smiling, he said, "Didn't you say, Junior Sister, that no matter what I became, you'd support me unconditionally and face it all with me?"
"Then... why are you going back on your word now?"
The day she was dragged back, Long Yin looked up at the young man leaning over her. His light gray eyes were as tender as ever, yet reflected her tear-reddened eyes.
Zi Sang Wugui chuckled in her ear:
"Have you learned how to dual cultivate, Junior Sister?"
"If you haven't, I'll demonstrate it for you again."
"Hush. Saying you're tired won't help."
[Reader's Guide]
1. One-on-one romance, happy ending. Not a strong female lead or a power fantasy. This is my take on cultivation, with lots of original worldbuilding.
2. A somewhat oblivious junior sister who thinks she has her senior brother wrapped around her finger but is actually completely at his mercy x a great demon who carefully guides her into devouring him, then pretends to be pitiful.
3. Everything in the plot serves the romance. The story is packed with couple interactions. Neither lead is perfect. Thanks so much for your support, sending you lots of love!
