I Can Hear the Killer's Inner Voice [The 1990s]

Forensic doctor Wei Jiang was dropped by the System onto an island in the 1990s, where she became an ordinary police officer.

The island was vast, crime-ridden, and short on supplies. It was also a haven for countless wanted criminals.

With a wave of its hand, the System allowed Wei Jiang to trade the capture of wanted criminals for supplies, and gave her the ability to hear what murderers were thinking.

So Wei Jiang patrolled the streets day and night.

Suspect A: I shouldn't have killed him in a moment of anger. I'm a criminal. What did he ever do wrong? He just loved me too much! ...Oh, a little mouse. I'll make sure to spare your descendants!

Suspect B: The feeling of drawing blood is wonderful. In with the white blade, out with the red. It's so satisfying. I want to kill a few more. Pork is delicious!

Suspect C: Damn it, I swatted five mosquitoes yesterday. What bad luck.

Wei Jiang: ...

This ability doesn't seem very useful.

Just as Wei Jiang was about to give up and leave, she suddenly heard: This little girl looks tasty. So tender and soft. She'd be delicious chopped up.

Her supplies had arrived!

Years later, the Wei family's famously useless girl rose to become a police chief. Crime on the island fell dramatically, the economy flourished, and it became the happiest place in the country!

Countless reporters clamored to interview her, asking for the secret to improving the island.

Wei Jiang: Well, it's all thanks to my good hearing.

Theme: Improve the island and achieve prosperity for all.
