[Sentinel and Guide] The Guide Is Naturally Cold

As one of the first people modified under the Calait Project, Dai Yan did not awaken as a Sentinel, as the researchers had hoped. Instead, she became a Guide, a Grade D Guide.

In the Empire, Grade D Guides are no different from ordinary people. Their pheromones are hard to detect, they rarely develop spirit companions, and their compatibility with Sentinels usually stays below 10%.

So Dai Yan became a good-for-nothing.

After the White Tower cast her out, Dai Yan realized there was nothing she was good for. Thanks to the training she had received when she was young, her physical abilities were far beyond ordinary, so she chose to become a bodyguard for hire.

Her employer was a rather demanding young master named Weize.

Weize's background was a mystery. He spent money lavishly, yet was harsh with others. He went to school with her but wouldn't let them be in the same class; he ate with her but wouldn't let her sit beside him; even when she rode in the same car as him, she was met with a displeased glare.

Dai Yan stuck to her duties as a bodyguard, overcoming every obstacle and doing her job with utmost diligence. She absolutely never crossed the line.

That is, until Weize awakened as a rather unconventional Sentinel and began looking at her more and more strangely.

Finally, one day, Weize climbed into her bed. His spirit companion, a male lion, was as docile as a kitten, its fluffy tail curled around her wrist, while he nuzzled all over her. "Dai Yan, please, bond with me."

It took the researchers a long time to realize that Dai Yan was not a Grade D Guide, but a rare SSS-grade Guide. Her mental power had interfered with the instruments during her awakening, leading them to record the wrong result.

That meant she had a usually irresistible allure to Sentinels of S rank and above.

Emotionally detached Dai Yan × outwardly sharp-tongued but inwardly devoted romantic Weize / researcher Rong Zhi, with an extreme need for control / seemingly gentle and magnanimous imperial prince Yi Song. None of them are quite right in the head.

The setting is an alternate constitutional monarchy. It starts with peaceful school life from the start, then the tension gradually builds.
