Strong, badass ghost hunter x timid, cowardly happy puppy
1.
By the time the Wen family, a family of Taoist practitioners, passed down to Wen Ya, its members had dwindled. She was away practicing her craft when she heard that her grandfather had been seriously injured, so she rushed home. But she was too late and didn't get to see him one last time.
After her grandfather's death, Wen Ya was all that remained of the Wen family.
Then the soul-returning lantern her grandfather left behind began acting up. Ghosts kept coming to her, each asking to borrow the spiritual artifact to return to life.
These days, the business of ghost hunting is all about sending spirits away. She's a Taoist master who hunts ghosts, yet she still has to politely ask the spirits who come looking for her what unfinished business they have.
One day, while she was exorcising a ghost, someone accidentally wandered in.
The guy had grown tall but had no courage to match. He was a big young man with courage the size of a grain of rice, and fainted at the sight of a ghost bleeding from all seven orifices.
Wen Ya: ...That's hard to judge.

Si Mucheng grew up as a good, upstanding young man and made it to nineteen. A perfectly ordinary university student in sports science, he'd been raised on the core socialist values. Then after a bad fever, he suddenly learned that ghosts existed, and saw one with his own eyes.
Si Mucheng: ...Why don't you just kill me?
He saw Wen Ya catching a ghost. Her long black hair fluttered in the wind, her gaze was resolute, and her expression calm.
A master!
He realized he could be saved. A powerful ally had practically landed right in his lap!
1. Not scary.
2. The author's made up everything. It's all fiction.

Looks-obsessed heartbreaker x gloomy puppy
1.
Xu Banqiu, the second child of the Xu family, loves collecting stamps. Except her stamps are men.
From daddies twelve years older than her to young pups eight years younger, from professors who pride themselves on their dignity to passionate, boundary-pushing influencers.
But Xu Banqiu is beautiful and knows it. She can only stay interested in a man for three weeks. She's most into him before she gets him, and once they're together, her interest plummets. She's also quite decisive about dumping them.
After attending a banquet one day, Xu Banqiu sets her sights on the host's eldest son. He's as cool as the moon, and she's never dated his type before. But no matter how much she tests him, he doesn't budge. For the first time, Xu Banqiu's looks and tactics hit a wall.
Xu Banqiu: He doesn't like me? Even more interesting.
Giving up isn't in her dictionary. Just as she's preparing to keep pushing through setbacks, the man's younger brother comes to find her.
Shen Sui is completely different from Shen Yan. Shen Yan is always cool and reserved, never showing his emotions, while Shen Sui's puppy eyes are always sparkling, and they curve into crescents when he smiles. He silently corners Xu Banqiu against the wall, smiling as he asks, "Sis, if my brother doesn't know what's good for him, how about me? I'm very well-behaved."
Xu Banqiu looks him over carefully.
Happy-puppy types like him are everywhere, and she's dated two before, but someone with Shen Sui's looks really is rare.
Xu Banqiu falls for him again. Her little brother might be an option too.

Shen Sui once happened to see Xu Banqiu flirting with a man. She wore a red dress, her eyes sultry, her fingers lightly resting on the man's Adam's apple. Her lips were even redder after drinking.
They were too far away for Shen Sui to hear what she said to the man, but she seemed to sense his gaze and glanced over at him. Just one look, and Shen Sui thought: she's just like it.
Like the little fox he caught when he was living at a mountain estate as a child. It was fluffy, with big eyes. He wanted to take it home, but a servant accidentally let it escape.
Shen Sui gazed at Xu Banqiu and smiled happily. How wonderful. He'd found another little fox. He wanted to keep her locked up at home, where no one else could see her.
But Xu Banqiu had set her sights on his older brother, and his brother, as cool and pristine as a moonlit breeze, really did seem to be falling for her. His brother was clearly losing his composure, but still kept up the airs of a gentleman.
It didn't matter. Whether his brother liked Xu Banqiu or not, Shen Sui was determined to have her. She was his little fox, and no one else could take her from him.
Later, he accidentally let his true nature show. Xu Banqiu angrily picked up a glass from the table and splashed its contents in his face. Shen Sui raised his eyebrows in surprise, then smiled. With his face dripping wet, he reached out, caught Xu Banqiu, and pulled her into his grasp. He said softly, "Sis, you missed the left side. Want to try again?"
Theme: As long as you keep living, good things will happen
