The year Chi Tianyu repeated a grade, he transferred into Xia Zhiji's class.
When she first started liking him, everyone around Xia Zhiji urged her to give up, saying he was no good.
Chi Tianyu was a trust-fund kid in every sense of the term, a notorious figure from the previous year, and the most troublesome student around, someone nobody dared to provoke.

The boy casually took off his headphones and looked up at her, looking as carefree and roguish as ever. Then he gave her the faintest smile, as if making small talk. "It's going to rain again later."
Xia Zhiji didn't understand what he meant and stood frozen in place.
Then the boy's smile faded. Emotions surged in his eyes, and his Adam's apple bobbed as he asked in a quiet voice, "Want me to walk you back?"
The scene reached back through the years and into the depths of her memories.
She suddenly realized that he looked exactly as he had back then, after she'd turned him down, when he had cautiously asked her, "What if we got into the same university?"
