The Nightmare Tower

The staircase spiraled upward, with two doors facing each other. Dried blood covered their ornate metal handles.

The safe door? The death door?

That depends on your luck...

Something came flying at him, and Lu Xiu dodged instinctively.

It wasn't much of a threat. Orange liquid splashed across his face.

Amid the ruins, a boy's ankle was shackled to a thick iron chain. He had the remaining half of an orange-flavored ice pop in his mouth and said regretfully, "Tsk, what a waste."

He shook his foot, making the chain clink and rattle.

"Hey, friend, this thing's a bit of a nuisance. Can you unlock it for me?"

Lu Xiu pulled the trigger.

Bang, bang!

The chain snapped, and the restraints attached to it fell apart. At the same time, a bullet punched clean through the boy's ankle.

"I underestimated you." The boy lowered his eyes and smiled innocently. The wound healed in an instant. "Hey, friend, let's get acquainted. I'm Baili Jie, the BOSS of this level, the one you want to kill."

The next moment, a bullet pierced the boy's head, spraying blood.

Lu Xiu's expression remained calm. "Yeah, I know."
