Mistaking Qianlong for My Father (A Qing Dynasty Reincarnation)

After transmigrating six years ago, Xia Xuan had watched his maternal grandparents and then his mother pass away. At last, the Xia clan drove him out of the family home, leaving him an orphan. He remembered what his mother had said before she died.

"Your father is a respected man in the capital. You must deliver these things to him in person. Then he'll know who you are and protect you as you grow up."

Xia Xuan dug out the keepsakes his parents had exchanged: a fan and a painting of lotus flowers. A thought suddenly flashed through his mind. Wasn't this Xia Yuhe of Daming Lake?

Could he be a "Third Prince" from My Fair Princess?

With nowhere to go after being thrown out, Xia Xuan had no choice but to set off for the capital in search of his father, filled with doubts.

All his life, Qianlong had followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, Kangxi, learning to govern as Kangxi had and to tour Jiangnan as Kangxi had.

During one of his secret visits to Jiangnan, a pretty little boy with rosy lips and pearly white teeth cried and called him Dad. Qianlong's heart softened, and he rescued the child. He never expected the boy to follow him all the way to the capital.

At first, Qianlong thought that finding the boy's birth father would be a good deed. But after he returned to the capital, things took an increasingly absurd turn.

"Dad, here's some silver."

"Dad, here's some food."

"Dad, here's some weapons."

Qianlong: What should he do? It seemed he didn't want to give the boy back anymore.

The boy's actual father: Where is my son? Where's my son, the one I had right there?
