The author is having such a great time studying for a master's degree in basic medicine at the lab that the resentment of being worked like a beast in a hospital has finally eased. I can't bring myself to keep writing for now, so I'm marking this complete for the time being. If inspiration strikes later, I'll add more in the extras.

Jia Xin suddenly awakens and learns that he's nothing but a cannon-fodder character in a melodramatic novel.
He can only survive by killing the protagonist.
The System says he'll marry the frail protagonist to bring him good luck, be treated like a tool, and eventually suffer physical and emotional torment until he dies.
But he still owes a billion, and he won't get the money to pay it back until the wedding is over!
Just as he's fretting over what to do, Jia Xin meets a handsome, wealthy man.
The man is not only willing to help him pay off his billion-yuan debt, but also wants to take responsibility for him.
There's just one catch: the man is ill, and he has a fiance.
That doesn't matter.
Jia Xin thinks, as long as he pays.
They become secret lovers, each getting what they need.
The man treats him so well that Jia Xin almost forgets about his emotional disorder.
But then one day, the man suddenly disappears.
Jia Xin searches everywhere for him without success, only to see his lover's black-and-white portrait at the funeral of the fiance he poisoned, along with a love letter.
The man says he's guilty. In his past life, he borrowed years from Jia Xin's lifespan, and he let him down.
"Forget me, and live well."
Jia Xin hates him.
On the day he was fated to die, he went to the cemetery, got roaring drunk, and smashed the man's tombstone.
He came down with a high fever and had a bout of madness.
After sobering up, he began to throw himself into a life of pleasure.
Spiked drinks, dubious schemes, even late-night invitations: Jia Xin accepts them all.
But every time, he brings the photograph he pried off the tombstone.
Maybe it's to spite the man, or maybe it's to torture himself.
Late at night, Jia Xin should have been tricked into going to a hotel, but instead he wakes up somewhere else.
He feels the icy yet achingly familiar body beside him, and immediately slaps it.
The evil spirit grips his waist and bites hard into his neck, dragging him without warning into an extreme frenzy of chaos and pleasure.
The strange scent of incense mingles with the smell of blood amid sweat and tears. Jia Xin tastes rust and feels the chilling aura of a ghost, while absurd joy and grief fill his dazed eyes.
Who gave you permission to leave in some self-sacrificing fit?
"Kill me, and we'll be together."
Before the apocalypse arrives, we'll escape our fate.

1. One-on-one romance, both physically and emotionally pure, happy ending.
2. The gong is weaker and the shou stronger early on, then they're both strong later! It's an over-the-top melodrama with no need to think too hard, mostly focused on watching the drama unfold, and almost nobody is normal. The romance is bittersweet with a little angst. After he becomes a ghost, there will be nonconsensual scenes, a crematorium arc, and other tropes. (If you like fragile, deranged widowers, come on in!)
3. Updates follow the rankings before the paid chapters, then daily updates afterward. I'll let you know in advance if anything comes up and I need to take a break.
4. Hope you enjoy reading!!!
Theme: Love makes people blind, but it can also save them.
It's still too little, so I'll give you some fertilizer 🤷
Congratulations on Kaiwen! Throw flowers?
