After Leaving the Entertainment Industry to Become a Security Guard, I Won Over the Nation's Beloved Actress

The next book, Don't Pretend to Be Good, is getting ready to launch. Scroll down for the blurb.

Li Guang has been in the entertainment industry for three years, but she's so obscure that her bank account has a balance of just two yuan. Even her next meal is a problem. Her biggest moment in the spotlight came when she called award-winning actress Ran Mingyue on a variety show, only to have the call rejected. Fans mocked her mercilessly.

Then Li Guang saw a job ad for security guards at a villa community, and it hit her.

She was never cut out for the entertainment industry!

She could become a security guard while she was still young and skip decades of detours.

Not long after she started work, the star-studded escape variety show You Run, I Chase, You Can't Get Away Even If You Grow Wings chose the villa community as its filming location. The guests were said to be a bunch of troublesome, hard-to-handle big shots.

The security team captain came to her. "Xiao Li, you're new and need some training. You're in charge of security on set for this show. Do a good job, and you'll be the next team captain."

Li Guang: "No problem!"

After You Run aired, fans noticed that the person accompanying Ran Mingyue was a slender security guard wearing a mask.

Fans were skeptical: "Is this really going to work? Can someone that tiny protect our award-winning actress?"

The next second, Li Guang kicked a flying NPC away in a single blow.

Fans: "?"

Later on...

Ran Mingyue couldn't open a door no matter what she tried, but Li Guang kicked it open.

Ran Mingyue was afraid to walk down a dark road, so Li Guang showed up with a flashlight and did a hand-flower dance.

An NPC scared Ran Mingyue half to death, while Li Guang scared the NPC half to death.

In the end, whenever anything happened, the comments and guests all cried, "Quick, quick, quick! Call security!"

Li Guang never expected that she would cause such a sensation just by working as an off-camera security guard. She topped the trending charts every episode, viewers demanded that she become a regular, she earned the title of Best Tank, and more and more fans called for her to return to the industry.

Li Guang: "No, no, no. I'm a security guard today, and I'll still be one tomorrow."

Just as Li Guang had turned down every offer and countless hot drama adaptations, a photo surfaced of her entering and leaving a mansion with award-winning actress Ran Mingyue.

Li Guang immediately clarified: "It's a misunderstanding. I'm a security guard at her villa community. We're just an employer and an employee."

But Ran Mingyue reposted the photo on Weibo, which was rare for her, and tagged Li Guang.

[Wifey, are you still throwing a tantrum?]

Fans: "???"

Later, Ran Mingyue was asked why she had hung up when Li Guang called her on the show.

The award-winning actress said, "Because I kissed her before she went on the show, and she still hadn't figured out how I felt. So I hung up in a huff."

Li Guang finally caught on: She quit the industry and worked as a gatekeeper for three months, only to come back still being the award-winning actress's one true love?

Fans: [Well, I'll be damned.jpg]

Viewers: Doubt Li Guang, understand Li Guang, become Li Guang. #Sis!! Your life is my dream#

Don't Pretend to Be Good

* A temporarily down-on-her-luck mogul and her spoiled canary

On the third day after Zhong Manjing was reborn, she walked into the little noodle shop where Lin Yuqing was hiding.

In three months, Lin Yuqing would be found, tortured in every way, and turned into Zhong Manjing's nominal future sister-in-law.

She planned to pretend to be prey, then take her brother's fiancée away and make her her own.

Even if Lin Yuqing was straight, she had to give it a try.

Later, Lin Yuqing reclaimed her identity and took over the family business. A spoiled canary appeared at her side.

She fed and pampered her, protected her, and eventually gave her a legitimate place by her side. The Zhong family went bankrupt, yet Zhong Manjing ended up living an even more extravagant life than before.

Lin Yuqing's only condition was that she stay obediently by her side.

But Zhong Manjing was determined to do the opposite of what Lin Yuqing wanted.

They fought countless times: on the sofa, on the carpet, by the floor-to-ceiling windows.

When their fights got most heated, Lin Yuqing was ruthless when she disciplined Zhong Manjing, and Zhong Manjing was just as fierce when she bit her, leaving scratches all over her.

Eventually, Lin Yuqing cornered her and pressed a restrained kiss to her back.

"Stop making trouble, okay? I'll give you everything."

What had started as a game Lin Yuqing was certain to win became a cage she willingly locked herself in.

*

Just before their wedding, Lin Yuqing suddenly fainted at home, and her private medical team examined her.

Clutching her plane ticket, Zhong Manjing wept like a flower in the rain. "Do you have a terminal illness? Why are you sending me away? Doctor, will my wife still be able to perform afterward?"

Lin Yuqing was silent for a moment. "Baby, I'm only having my appendix removed. It's not like I've lost a hand. Besides, I can still..."

The doctors and nurses: "..."

Blushing, Zhong Manjing said, "Shameless! I'll burn every feather tickler!"

Theme: Face life's difficulties with a cheerful attitude.
