A feel-good power fantasy with a ridiculously powerful golden finger. All that matters is the satisfying payoff! Added March 5, 2026.
Xie Qinghe was reborn into a desperately poor family. He was the eldest son.
This family was a strange one. His father had failed at business, run up millions in debt, and was bedridden and unable to care for himself.
His mother was in poor health, in and out of the hospital every few days, barely clinging to life. His younger sister had a developmental disability, never went to school or left the house, and spent all day staring blankly in her room.
The family survived on the grandparents' farming, until even the grandparents fell ill and collapsed. With the family on the verge of starving to death, their eldest son, who had died and come back to life, shouldered the burden.
A disastrous start, but he wasn't worried.
Xie Qinghe returned to his old trade: ghost hunting.
He tied red strings, turned the compass, chanted spirit words, and drove away evil spirits.
By the second week after his rebirth, the millions in debt were paid off.
By the fourth week, his bedridden father could walk again, and his sickly mother had recovered.
By the sixth week, his sister had recovered from her disability.
With the debts paid and his family safe and well, Xie Qinghe continued his carefree cultivation, built a Taoist temple, became a Taoist priest, and took on young disciples.
Ten years after his rebirth.
Xie Qinghe sat with his head propped on one hand in the seat of honor. His robes were plain, his hair pinned up with a greenwood hairpin, his face calm and unreadable. His many disciples bowed respectfully and spoke in unison.
"We pay our respects to our Grandmaster!"
Romance Interlude
When he had nothing else to do, Xie Qinghe would occasionally summon the Ghost Lord to flirt with him.
Bells clanged beneath the eaves. Di He stood by the window, eyes fixed on the figure in white, tilting his head. "The wind is calm and the night is peaceful. Why summon me?"
Xie Qinghe leaned against the bed and beckoned with a finger. Lifting his chin, he said evenly, "Come here. Tonight, I'll let you into the Grandmaster's bed."
