When a Top Student Lands in a World of Faith

[Recommended: The Salvation System Begs Me to Stop Trying to Die, blurb below] Transmigrated into the youngest son of a noble family in a remote region of a Western fantasy world, Yulis decides to lie flat and enjoy life after a previous life spent working himself to the bone. With a comfortable home, a harmonious family, and only nightly nightmares to spoil things, this is practically Yulis's ideal life. That is, until something unexpected happens when he's ten. The Church of Light opens a church in their remote region, and an elderly, gentle priest arrives with it. The first time he sees Yulis, the priest says that an evil god has chosen him. His nightly nightmares are an omen, and the day he comes of age will be the day he dies. Yulis: ? While Yulis is still bewildered, the priest extends an olive branch. "Would you like to worship our god? Become one of his children, and our god will mercifully protect you." Yulis instantly understands. Got it! Time to hit the books! So, to stay alive, Yulis brings out the same drive he had in his previous life and sets off on the path of outworking the priest, the knights, the pope, and even the gods. "Father, how can holding a service once a week show our devotion? We should have one every day." "Knight, you don't start training until seven every morning? Does that make you the most loyal and hardworking Light Knight in our god's service?" "Your Holiness, the light should shine everywhere, and churches of the Light should be spread across the entire continent. So many lost lambs are still trapped in darkness and waiting to be saved. How can you be satisfied so easily?" "Our god, wherever your light shines is your domain, so why don't we..." Yulis pauses, smiles with pure benevolence, closes his eyes, and puts on a devout expression. "Why don't we annex the Sun God? The sun is light, too, so you should be the one to control its authority." The priest, the knights, the pope, and the gods: ... Stop working so hard! Stop it! After Yulis works the Church of Light into the largest religion on the continent, he finds himself second only to the gods within the church, with everyone else beneath him. He thinks it over and quietly concludes that it's still not enough. He's still too weak. So he tentatively offers his faith to other gods. What's one god? A workaholic should believe in ten! Then he works all ten! When Yulis turns eighteen, the evil god who has long been asleep quietly awakens, planning to eat the prey it had its eye on. But as soon as it extends a tentacle, several righteous gods band together to beat it up. The stunned evil god: ? Wait, are you saying that the divine child you all chose to protect... is the prey I picked out back then?! That can't be right! The gods: Just shut up and stop showing up! Don't let that guy work us to death again! P.S. Some gods are righteous, and some are evil. Most righteous gods are gentle and care for humanity. The protagonist worships mostly righteous gods. Yulis: Working myself to the bone means working myself into existence and working everyone else to death, hahaha.
