The Anti-Imperialist Boss Doesn't Want to Redeem Herself

Miyawaki Chizuru, 27 years old. The richness of her life experience surpassed that of 99% of her peers, and the remaining 1% included her good classmate.

At 14, she went to the battlefield to save her teacher. She fought so fiercely that she earned the strange nickname "Golden-Feathered Demon Bird."

"What kind of name is Demon Bird? I'm a crane! Gintoki, let's trade. I'm a white-haired girl too!"

"Huh? You can't just trade nicknames whenever you feel like it, miss."

At 15, her classmates, worried about her injuries, sent her to work in logistics. She discovered a hidden talent and rose to become the boss of an anti-shogunate group.

"The wheel of fortune turns! You three idiots just wait. When I'm the boss, I'll make you my slaves!"

At 16...

She chose to betray the friends who had fought by her side all along, and crossed swords with them.

"I'm sorry..."

They did not see one another again for ten years.

At 27, she was an utterly ordinary novelist when she ran into her childhood friend, the one she had betrayed.

He did not blame or hate her.

She saw the usually unserious man clench his fist and let his tears fall.

"Why didn't you tell me... us?"

Why? Miyawaki Chizuru was a little bewildered.

Then, in those familiar red eyes, she saw herself, already covered in scars.

The shogunate had severed the tendons in her hands. She could never wield a sword side by side with him again.

She had been exploited for so long that she no longer dared to seek money.

Cruelty had crushed her spirit until she could no longer support anyone else.

Miyawaki Chizuru, 27 years old, had just realized she might have forgotten something.

But it no longer mattered much, because...

She was about to die.

"Chizuru!"
