Tanikawa, the Volleyball Club's Most Ordinary Guy

[Complete. Upcoming novels: "An Entirely Ordinary Gacha Fan", "Karasuno’s Ace Is a Samoyed", "Kageyama’s Childhood Friend, Hinata"] [The cover shows the older and younger Tanigawas cuddling! This is mainly about Tanigawa’s growth. The early chapters are more emotionally heavy, but the story gradually shifts into a more typical, uplifting sports style. Little angels, feel free to quit or skip chapters if you need to.] Blurb One: Tanigawa Yukina thinks he’s an utterly ordinary volleyball player. He was lucky enough to become a starter on a powerhouse team, and thanks to his genius teammates, he coasted all the way to a national championship. Unfortunately, an accident made his already mediocre skills deteriorate further and further, attracting all kinds of criticism. After a training camp became a turning point, Tanigawa transferred in his second year of high school from a powerhouse in Tokyo to an obscure school in the Tohoku region, hoping to heal his psychological scars. Here, he underwent a whole new transformation and made a little bit of a difference. A huge difference? Well… Tanigawa seems completely unaware that, while trying to escape his own psychological scars, he’s inflicted even worse ones on everyone else. Tanigawa Yukina, who scored most of the points as the core of the team: (bowing expressionlessly) I’m so sorry for dragging everyone down. Hinata: Tanigawa is sooo amazing! Kuroo: Does that sound like something a human being would say? Oikawa: (gritting his teeth) What kind of new, obnoxious behavior is this? Luckily, after his teammates corrected him countless times and his opponents gave him “kind” pep talks, Tanigawa finally realized that maybe he was a little stronger than he thought. … Well, maybe I should see how much higher I can climb. With his eyes shining, Tanigawa, who had been assimilated by the little crows, thought: I’ll go beat those geniuses. And so, the demon king finally awakened. Daichi reaches out like Erkan: Wait, correcting his mindset is great and all, but Tanigawa getting more and more sadistic has to be my imagination… right? Here are some testimonials from people who’ve experienced the Tanigawa brand of demon king. Team captain from an unnamed school: I passed out on the spot. Maybe my body’s self-protection mechanism kicked in. An unnamed setter from Hyogo Prefecture: He’s even more annoying than before! His destined rival, the cat-like setter: That’s right. Tanigawa is just as interesting as Shoyo. Those who jeered and mocked him, hoping to see a prodigy fall from grace: (holding their swollen faces) Wait, who said Tanigawa was washed up?! Are you kidding me?! Mm… It seems he’s traumatized them even more. Blurb Two: Having always felt insecure and been abandoned, Tanigawa Yukina loves volleyball, a sport where many people support one another. He takes refuge in it, hiding away in his own little sanctuary. On that small court, he meets warmhearted friends. Together, they laugh and cry, and experience a springtime that will never come again. This is a story about a boy with some psychological struggles who is healed by others while healing them in turn. This isn’t a conventional, high-energy shonen sports story. It isn’t! It isn’t! P.S. 1. The writing is average and the pacing is slow. Feel free to leave any reasonable suggestions. 2. Characters from other sports anime will make guest appearances, and some events won’t follow the original timeline. 3. Not everyone is an angel. There will be scenes of people watching from the sidelines, mocking, and speaking cruelly. Some characters are original, and the schools Itachiyama and Ichibayashi have been given original details where the source material says little. 4. There are many match descriptions. The author is a volleyball beginner and has only played recreationally, so please point out anything that seems inaccurate. 5. Some things that might seem “omitted or poorly described” are foreshadowing. Theme: Healing one another and growing together
