What are princesses made of? Glory, praise, and glittering jewels?
Seoul is the princess of the Kingdom of Light.
Though Seoul is a princess, she has never had the self-awareness of one. It has never occurred to her that a princess ought to bring happiness to her people. She thinks that not growing up to be a spoiled brat is already the greatest contribution she can make to the kingdom. When her friend Vivian hears this, she always looks at Seoul with faint contempt, as if to say, "How can someone like you be a princess of the Kingdom of Light?" Seoul just huffs and brings up her mother. "My mom only wants me to grow up safe and sound. She doesn't want me dragged into power struggles at all. If anything happens in the palace, my childhood friend and fiance will be the first to deal with it. It won't be my problem."
Vivian: "The history books say that princesses who are of no use are usually sent off to marry for political reasons. Think of Rhine. If you don't get your act together, that could be your future home."
Seoul: "I would never go to such a barren, barbaric place. My mom was sent off to marry when she was young, too. Are you saying my mom was a useless princess?"
Vivian: "...No. Her Majesty Catherine is the greatest queen in the modern history of the Kingdom of Light."
A princess only needs to eat well, live in comfort, want for nothing, and marry a prince. But what many people don't know is that Seoul loves none of the princes. Ever since she was a child, the one she has always watched is the Pope...
Theme: You say a princess is meant to be loved. I say a princess can love, too.
