The Entire Shinobi World Says My Best Friend Killed Me

Minato Namikaze and I had a falling-out.

That day, I returned to the Valley of the End with the Nine-Tails and a Gundam. He was wearing the Fourth Hokage's robe, and said to me:

Whoever wins this time gets to call the shots.

I thought that made sense, so we fought three hundred rounds atop the heads of Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha.

In the end, all that remained in the Valley of the End was a massive chasm carved by Susanoo, mirrored by the statues of the God of Shinobi and the Ghost of the Uchiha.

I disappeared right in front of Minato.

After going through hell to return from the Warring States period seventy years in the past to my own timeline, everyone said to me:

Weren't you killed by Minato Namikaze?

They looked at me as if I were dead. Then I pointed at Madara Uchiha in the middle of the battlefield and put a question mark in the air.

"How is he still alive?"

The God of Shinobi, the master of forbidden techniques, the Professor of Ninjutsu, and the Yellow Flash all failed to understand my despair.

Seeing Madara Uchiha looking fit and no older than twenty, every bone in my body screamed that it wanted to run away from home.

Though the man standing before me didn't know who I was, the look in his eyes when he turned to me was exactly the same as back then.

I wondered:

Would anyone come save me this time?

1. Female protagonist, classic power-progression story. The love interest might be Madara, but I'm not sure.

2. Third-person narration, serious tone. The blurb's style might count as false advertising. ( )

Theme: What doesn't kill me will only make me stronger.
