Imperial Princess

[A spoiled, willful princess and her devoted, loyal guard]

[Childhood sweethearts + bitter enmity + the heroine pursues the hero after driving him away]

When Ning Yao was six,

she fell out of a tree.

A young guard caught her and warned her, "Careful, Princess."

Her eyes lit up. "Big brother... what's your name?"

"Li Lu."

"Big brother Deer!"

"It's the 'lu' in slaughter."

As it turned out, this impressive young guard was her older brother's playmate.

She liked him so much. She thought how wonderful it would be if he were her playmate, too.

When she was thirteen,

Ning Yao secretly slipped out of the palace to watch fireworks.

Lost in the crowd, she couldn't find her way home.

She was frightened and cried nonstop.

Then he appeared in front of her, took her hand, and said, "Princess, I'll take you home."

As she rode on Big Brother Deer's back,

Ning Yao touched her little heart.

It was going thump, thump, thump, thump, thump...

For the first time, she learned that this feeling was called a young girl's first crush.

*

When she was eighteen,

the brother who loved her most granted her a marriage decree.

She shouted, "I won't marry him!"

Her brother, who had never once scolded her, slapped her and sent her tumbling down the jade steps. "You're a princess. This is your duty!"

That was the last time she went to see Li Lu.

He stared at her in disbelief. "Are you really going to marry someone else?"

"Of course. Who did you think you were? Can you protect me?"

*

Smoke rose straight into the vast desert sky.

Sitting in the wedding carriage, Ning Yao thought back on nothing but her Big Brother Deer.

But in the desert,

there would never be any deer again.

What she never expected was

that her wedding carriage would be seized along the way, and a banner marked with the character "Lu" would soon fly across the wilderness.

The man she had abandoned pursued her with an army and knelt on one knee before her. "Princess, I have come to take you home."
