Sometimes the police academy squad wondered why their friends had to go through all this. Their lives were vivid and eventful, yet filled with pain and regret... If only they had noticed sooner, if only they had realized sooner, perhaps everything would have turned out differently.
The once-free Hagiwara Kenji was manipulated and humiliated by others.
The steadfast Matsuda Jinpei left scar after scar on his hands.
The gentle Morofushi Hiromitsu was shattered by dissociative identity disorder.
The unyielding Furuya Rei lost his original convictions.
The dependable Date Wataru ended up with an obsession.
They fought their way out of the mire each was trapped in. No matter how hard they tried to save the people around them, those people kept heading in an even worse direction.
But when the truth came to light at age twenty-six... their fists all clenched.
[Common traits of the police academy squad]: All reborn, each remembers the circumstances of their own death clearly, but their memories of the others' deaths are hazy.
Hagiwara Kenji: A secret identity System. He has three secret identities, each with a mental debuff. The Host must take responsibility for the secret identities and ease their debuffs.
Matsuda Jinpei: A prophecy System. He can foresee his own future from one minute to one day ahead. The farther ahead he looks, the vaguer the vision. The longer the interval, the longer the Host's non-health debuff lasts.
Morofushi Hiromitsu: A role-playing System. He must play randomly assigned characters, which change once a week. He may gain a skill, with the odds increasing the more convincingly he plays the role.
Furuya Rei: A true criminal-side liquor System. It makes him more adept at criminal methods and criminal psychology. He needs a valid reason to interact with people on the law-enforcement side whom he knows are on that side.
Date Wataru: An excellent police detective System. It automatically tracks criminal cases in the surrounding area for the Host to choose from. After completing a certain number of missions, he can receive a stand-in doll.
The police academy squad: So we were all the same after all. (Smiling without a hint of amusement)
Then the five of them fought and nearly destroyed the Public Security training facility...
But will the misunderstandings end so quickly? Of course not.
And then there are all our undercover agents, Kazami, Akai, Conan, Ai... as well as people like Takagi in the police force...
After that, the police academy squad faced even more tangled misunderstandings, with the plot getting twice as complicated.
Then the five separate group chats became one big complaint group...
How do I explain that I don't want to date because every move I make is under someone else's control?
I don't have a self-harm kink, and the Organization never took the most important person in my life. I'm not wallowing in self-pity.
I really wasn't brainwashed by the Organization and forced to fake my death.
What kind of person have I become in my subordinates' eyes? I wasn't repeatedly brainwashed or made to lose my memory, thank you very much.
I'm just doing my job. Could you please get out of my way? I have a mission to do
The story opens after graduation from the police academy. Until age twenty-six, the main viewpoints generally follow the order of the deaths. After age twenty-six, the story switches between the five of them, depending on whose perspective works best, with occasional bystander viewpoints (the people responsible for imagining things).
If this synopsis still doesn't get approved, I'll take a knife to the reviewer.
