Gu Jia in Summer

Xia Tian spent his whole life doing one thing: chasing Gu Jia.

Gu Jia spent his whole life doing one thing too: letting Xia Tian chase him.

It should have worked out just fine.

One chased while the other ran, like a cat teasing a dog. Before long, they were tangled up together.

But Xia Tian tends to take everything too far, and chasing someone was no exception.

He chased Gu Jia into trouble, and chased himself into it too.

Gu Jia went crazy and changed the map entirely.

When they met again, Xia Tian went from dog to mouse, and Gu Jia went from cat to lion.

Xia Tian said, "Do you still mean it when you said you'd marry me as a kid?"

Gu Jia said, "I also said Ultraman was real when I was a kid."

Xia Tian: "Then should I keep chasing you?"

Gu Jia: "Can you keep up?"

Xia Tian: "My legs are fine."

Gu Jia: "I mean your brain."

All right, his brain really wasn't up to much.

But Gu Jia hadn't told him to get lost, so he'd keep chasing him.

Just a little more gently this time...

P.S.:

Mad dog seme × leashed uke

Short story; melodrama; happy ending; one-on-one romance.

Written over twenty years ago. I couldn't bear to delete the manuscript, so I'm posting it here.

Please be warned: The plot is melodramatic, and the worldbuilding serves the story. Don't project this onto real life and attack the characters or the author.

Theme: If you're not going crazy chasing someone, you don't love them enough.
