Di Zhiyun was known as the snow atop the mountain, an aloof beauty to be admired from afar but never touched.
On a graduation trip, a dozen people sat in a circle playing games. Tipsy Tu Ning suddenly grabbed Di Zhiyun's hand where it rested on the sofa and began to toy with it, rubbing it over and over.
Di Zhiyun glanced at her in surprise. A few seconds later, as if nothing had happened, he tossed his coat over their joined hands and laced his fingers through hers.
Once sober, Tu Ning tried to play dumb, laughed awkwardly, then turned and ran.
That night, in a deserted corner, Di Zhiyun's voice was soft and bewitching in her ear. “Why are you running? Don't want to take responsibility?”

Two years later, in the dark of night and a light rain, passion swept over them.
Di Zhiyun sat by the window with his back to Tu Ning, half his face flickering in the moonlight. “Tu Ning, either we get married or we break up.”
Tu Ning's body instantly went cold. After two seconds of silence, she picked up her pajamas and put them on. “Then let's break up.”
-
Months later, they met again at a school reunion.
That night, under the dim, suggestive lights of a karaoke room, someone confessed to Tu Ning and asked whether she was still with Di Zhiyun.
Di Zhiyun leaned in a dark corner, wanting to hear her answer.
Tu Ning looked over the other person's shoulder and met his gaze, a mysterious smile on her lips. “We're not together. I'm single.”
The expression on his face disappeared into the gloom of the night.
-
At a dinner with mutual friends, Tu Ning arrived holding hands with her “new boyfriend,” her short hair slightly curled and her makeup light.
Di Zhiyun gave them a casual glance, then carried on chatting and laughing with his friends.
While everyone else was in high spirits, he led Tu Ning to the restroom and squeezed hand soap into her palm.
As Tu Ning looked at him in displeasure, he crossed his arms and stated with conviction, “Infectious disease prevention means washing your hands often. Didn't you know?”
That night, half-drunk, he held on to her on the company terrace, rubbing his cheek against her skin as he murmured in her ear, “You were clearly mine. How did you suddenly stop being mine?”

*Blurb for the upcoming book Out of Bounds:
Rekindled romance | Intense tension | Mutual intellectual attraction
Meng Lingzhang and her boyfriend appeared together on a variety show.
One night around midnight, she went downstairs in her nightgown to look for something, only to find a man sitting beside the bar. Beneath the dim night sky, the chandelier's scattered light illuminated his handsome features, and his bearing seemed somewhat melancholy.
He was the artist the production team had specially invited to elevate the show's theme.
Meng Lingzhang walked over quietly and greeted him. “Hi.”
The man looked up. His deep gaze swept lightly over her, lingering briefly on the dark red mark on her neck, but he made no move to talk.
Meng Lingzhang returned upstairs. Her boyfriend emerged sleepily from the next room. “What's wrong? Why aren't you asleep?”
Meng Lingzhang flicked the itchy spot with her slender fingertip. “A mosquito bit me. I went to see if the production team had left any mosquito repellent or ointment, but I couldn't find any.”
Her boyfriend put an arm around her shoulders and led her inside. “Go to sleep for now. I'll buy you some first thing tomorrow morning.”
The man by the bar on the other side of the glass railing acted as if he hadn't heard a thing. But in a spot the camera couldn't see, gloom lurked in his eyes.
Theme: A simple, peaceful life is what really matters
I'm holding back a big chapter, and I'm really busy. I'm sorry, friends, I don't even dare to reply to comments (face covering) There was a scene I wanted to write about, but I suddenly realized that the season didn't match it, ah... I'll wait until I think about how to adjust it. A few days ago, my work and rest were chaotic, which caused a shoulder and neck headache. I was confused for about three days. Today, I adjusted a little. I can no longer go to bed late and force myself to get up early. I'm going to cultivate my sleep. Good night~
It's coming, it's so beautiful
