I'm Just a Shadow Guard

I'm just a bodyguard in the shadows. You can't pay me background-actor wages and expect me to do the work of the male supporting character, female supporting character, male lead, and female lead. I'm just a bodyguard in the shadows. Pay me thirty thousand and I'm your trusted aide; pay me three thousand and I'm your worst nightmare. I'm just a bodyguard in the shadows...

My charge is trying to get himself killed again. I'll go take a look.

He's not dead yet. Carry on.

Anyway, I'm a bodyguard in the shadows. If you have a job for me, find me on a recruitment site. You get what you pay for, and I treat everyone fairly.

Luo Yi transmigrated into a book and became a nameless bodyguard in the shadows serving the villainous big boss. He didn't need to appear onstage or suffer; he just had to hide in the dark and watch the protagonists act out their tragic love stories. His only goal was to save enough for retirement before his boss got written out.

That was how it was supposed to go.

Luo Yi covered his backside and silently shed tears.

A resentful bodyguard in the shadows who isn't devoted to his work but is absolutely devoted to his paycheck. The love interest is his boss, the one who laughs in exasperation at him every day.

Title is tentative; I'll change it when I start posting.
