+Synopsis+

Ever since Pierza, a subordinate of the Fatui, went undercover in Mondstadt as an adventurer, every day has been spent either doing commissions or on the way to do commissions. He even earned the title of the most efficient adventurer.

He had planned to return to his hometown in Snezhnaya and slack off, but at the last minute he was forced to become an assistant to the Chief Alchemist, starting another round of his "three-way parallel" work routine.

Pierza: There's no way I'm taking a break. KPIs come first.

A folded piece of paper lay hidden in a gap in the stained fireplace. A young child used a piece of stolen wire to slowly pull it out.

On a moonless night, in the silent lounge, the child opened the note.

Written on it in dark red ink were these words:

There are three ways for a child of the House of the Hearth to escape the Fatui: die serving the Tsaritsa on a mission, be killed by a Harbinger as a traitor, or...

Die in an endless pursuit.

-

A new adventurer had arrived in Mondstadt.

He looked very young. If not for the gray robe hanging loosely from his frame, people might have noticed how thin he was, almost all skin and bones.

The young adventurer turned down the Adventurers' Guild's invitation and took commissions, picked fruit, fished, and delivered meals as a freelance adventurer. In just one month, he became the adventurer with the highest commission completion rate.

If you asked what this adventurer was after...

Pierza: Actually... I want to buy a house in Mondstadt.

-

Few people visited Mondstadt's alchemy workshop.

But Kaeya, once the head of the Department of Civil Affairs and now the Cavalry Captain, naturally had the right to enter.

After a brief knock, someone opened the old door. A young man with ash-blond hair, wearing a robe, appeared in the doorway.

"What is it?" the young man asked, his voice somewhat hoarse. "Make it quick."

Kaeya cleared his throat. "Acting Grand Master Jean wants to know if you need a month off."

The young man turned around and seemed to glance at someone else.

"We don't need that long," he said with a smile, sounding to be in a good mood. "Probably... just three more days."

But you've already been at it for three days.

Of course, Kaeya didn't dare say that aloud. He could only return an awkward smile. "Understood."

"Experiments on the nature of life really are hard work."

Albedo x Pierza, exclusive pairing. Everyone else is platonic. Endgame pairing is one-on-one.

Characters aren't good or evil, only on different sides. Please don't insult characters, and don't bring this story up under other works. Some plot details have been changed. Above all, I hope you enjoy reading.

After finally managing to live a normal life, Faqite Hening, who conquered the haunted-tale world with an upbringing System, transmigrated into a popular mobile game on the very first day after escaping that world.

By day, he's a hardworking double agent. By night, he's the head of a horde of haunted tales, helping them plan and choose places to live.

So, for the survival of his big family of haunted tales in the System, and his dream of going home to inherit his family's fortune, Faqite chose to target Liyue, which seemed to have the most unassuming locals.

Second attempt: A haunted tale complained that a certain man had turned all its followers against it.

Third attempt: A haunted tale hit it off with a certain woman, swore an oath of sisterhood with her, then took another group of haunted tales away to build a grand theater.

On the Nth attempt, Faqite looked at the smiling magician before him and quietly sent his last words through the System:
