The Demon King’s Precious Little Angel

Wings are a blessing bestowed upon angels by God, and every angel takes pride in having them.

Mianmian is the child of the six-winged archangel.

He should have been a candidate for the next archangel and the most honored little prince in Heaven, but when the holy light shone upon him at the Wing-Bestowal Ceremony, his back was empty.

He was a child with no wings.

Angels were proud, disciplined, tolerant, and compassionate. They despised the wingless Mianmian, but didn't consider him worth killing.

Mianmian was exiled to the demon realm.

The angels named him Seroa, meaning a child abandoned by God.

The first time he saw Seroa,

the Demon King gripped his little face with a cold expression and watched as the trembling Seroa struggled to speak.

He sneered. "Crybaby."

In secret, he sent over baby nutrition fruit and had the demon realm's sacred birds sing lullabies to soothe him to sleep.

The next time he saw Seroa,

Seroa recoiled in fright and stumbled to the ground.

The Demon King's face darkened as he scolded, "Idiot."

But his body bent down honestly to scoop Seroa up, his hand gently brushing over the little boy's wounds.

The nth time he saw Seroa,

the Demon King's expression was gentle. He lifted Seroa, who had rushed into his arms, and set him on the throne beside him, then gently took Seroa's hand.

[In the name of the Lord of the Abyssal Demons and the third-generation Demon King, I crown you]

[You shall possess boundless magic, a vast domain, the loyalty of demons, and the love of the entire demon realm] [You shall become my one and only godson, and the undisputed fourth-generation Demon King of the demon realm]

[My dear Seroa]

The angels found Seroa after he had become the one and only eight-winged angel.

The archangel looked down at him from on high, magnanimously forgiving his vulgarity and insolence, and bestowed an honor upon him.

"You should kneel and give thanks. This is God's blessing," the archangel warned coldly.

Seroa lifted his head. Power was within his grasp, yet he turned away without hesitation, sealed the door with a single sword stroke, and ran toward the distance.

Gold ornaments fell to the ground, jeweled chains snapped, and palaces of jade and crystal collapsed where they stood.

The angels took to the air in disarray, covered in dust.

Barefoot, he leaped into a mass of black mist.

"Godfather."

"Take me home."

Seroa did not mean a child abandoned by God. It meant a darling of darkness, a treasure of the demons.

The angels were blind and lost their treasure, mistaking a pearl for a fish's eye.

Reader's notes:

1. A growth-focused, universally adored child story. The childhood phase is long.

2. The love interest is a childhood friend, a little demon dragon. The romance begins when they are adults.

3. Fundamentally, this is a sweet and satisfying story, with almost no angst and a happy ending.
