(The title is taken from a song of the same name)
[She is like the sea: calm and beautiful above the surface, but hiding deep whirlpools below. One careless step, and you'll be dragged under with no way to save yourself.]
Everyone had a different opinion of Nanami Miya, yet they all agreed that she was exceptional. She was widely recognized as the most beautiful girl at Karasuno.
To the strict head teacher, Nanami Miya was an outstanding student, excelling in both conduct and academics. To the student body, she was the student council president who always had the final say. But to the tall member of the volleyball team, Nanami Miya, who lived next door, was like a fathomless sea. The surface was calm, but beneath it lurked turbulent, treacherous whirlpools that could pull you in at the slightest misstep.
But how had things gone wrong? By the time he realized it, he had already fallen into that deep sea.
He wanted those eyes to look only at him, and her smile to bloom only for him.
Nanami Miya stood in the stands, watching the figure leaping again and again across the orange court, and smiled. It seemed she had firmly caught the moon in her hands.
A little bonus scene:
Nanami Miya looked at the boy's bandaged fingers and asked, "Would you like to see a pain-relieving spell?"
His glasses glinted faintly. With an expression that said, "Do you take me for a child?" he replied, "That's something only children believe in."
Then, after a match one day, the boy raised his injured right hand, turned his blushing face away, and quietly said, "Please show me the pain-relieving spell."
