Chang'an, a divine lord, was banished to the mortal realm to undergo a three-day trial after stealing a sip of the Queen Mother's beauty-enhancing wine.
But he was easygoing by nature, and spent his days carousing in taverns while in the mortal realm.
Until one day, he woke up in an unfamiliar bed. Before he could rub his aching waist and legs, the person beside the bed gave him a cold look.
Chang'an felt his scalp prickle under that gaze and was about to use an illusion to escape when the person said two words:
"Take responsibility."
Chang'an had no choice but to take responsibility for him, bringing him along wherever he traveled. By day, they drank and sang to their hearts' content; by night, they spent every night in bliss.
The young man was wonderful in every way, but Chang'an's waist could barely take it. Even an immortal couldn't keep up with that kind of exertion.
Unable to take it anymore, Chang'an had a little disagreement with the young man and secretly returned to the divine realm.
As it happened, the princess of the divine realm was getting married, so Chang'an stayed for the wedding feast. He was drunk for half a month. When he woke and hurried back to the mortal realm, he learned that one day in heaven was three years in the human world.
Withered branches had grown over the young man's grave. Chang'an had no idea how long ago he had died. Beside the grave was the Qiuyue Hong wine they had buried together that day.
From then on, Chang'an never drank again.
A hundred years later, new blood arrived in the immortal realm, and all the immortals eagerly awaited the peerless prodigy who was undergoing a trial to become a god.
Chang'an stared blankly at that familiar face, his heart knotted with countless thoughts.
The entire immortal realm thought that Lord Chang'an had turned over a new leaf and spent every day cultivating in earnest. But after he met Lord Siyu,
all the immortals learned the truth: every day, he went to climb Lord Siyu's wall!
And Siyu simply repeated, without tiring, "I believe Your Lordship must have mistaken me for someone else."
Chang'an wore a pained expression as he asked his colleagues sincerely through the spirit mirror, "How do you make it up to your Daoist partner when you've made them angry? It's pretty urgent."
