[Dashing Female General x Apparently Proper Physician from the Medicine Valley]
1v1, both leads are sexually inexperienced
Qi Ying grew up on the frontier, learning to wield weapons, ride and shoot, and fight enemies alongside her father and brothers.
In early spring, when the fighting paused, Qi Ying traveled south to Jiangnan to pay respects to her mother. On the way, she happened to rescue a graceful young gentleman.
Her father and brothers always said a person should live freely, and when you met someone you liked, you should go after them. So when she met Bai Jing, she pursued him without hesitation.
She changed out of her sharp military uniform and into a delicate dress like other young ladies, and cared for him day and night as he recovered from his injuries.
She put aside her returning spear and picked up a needle, sewing a sachet by hand to give him.
Bai Jing was often flustered by her teasing, but always avoided her with a perfectly serious expression. He even tossed the sachet into the mud, like a withered flower.
What was the point of acting like a proper lady? She couldn’t keep it up.
Since she couldn’t have him, Qi Ying cornered the young gentleman in an alley and kissed him by force.
Just then, a letter came from her father. War was about to break out, and he urged her to return to the frontier and lead troops in support. So she left the young gentleman behind and hurried back to the border.
She couldn’t warm a heart that wouldn’t be warmed, so she gave up. At least she’d stolen a kiss. She wasn’t the one who’d lost out.
Qi Ying thought they would never see each other again. Then, a year later, a new army physician arrived, said to be a prince from the palace who had volunteered to come. His face looked familiar. She racked her brains before remembering that he was the romantic debt she’d left unpaid.
But the palace was full of rules, and there were countless men in the world. She couldn’t go to the palace and become a concubine. Besides, the young gentleman hadn’t liked her in the first place. Qi Ying didn’t dare provoke him, so she kept her distance.
But late one night, the prince cornered Qi Ying inside her military tent.
“General Qi, don’t you think it’s time you paid me back?”
From the male lead’s perspective:
Bai Jing had been sickly since childhood. He was sent to Medicine Valley as soon as he was born, where he studied medicine and recuperated under his master’s care. When he came of age, his father, the emperor, ordered him to leave the valley and go to the capital.
On the way, he was attacked by bandits and rescued by a dashing woman in red.
But then the woman clung to him every day, leaving him flustered and annoyed. After she cornered him in an alley that day, she never appeared again.
When he finally saw her again, the woman said:
“Qi Ying was presumptuous before. I wouldn’t dare presume to be worthy of you. I hope you’ll find someone more suitable.”
