Do I Have to Queue for the Ex-Wife Chase?

This story has all the angsty tropes: a scum-chasing-the-ex redemption arc, a sickly beauty on the receiving end, and a love-triangle battleground. The endgame pairing is still undecided.

After a car accident, Lin ZhiQue discovers that he is this world's energy source, and that his ex-boyfriends numbers one, two, and three, along with number four, who hasn't gotten together with him yet, are all players on a mission.

The time they put themselves in harm's way to protect him from bullies, the hand they reached out when he got lost in the wilderness, even his third ex-boyfriend's fatal car accident: they were all elaborate performances staged to earn his affection points.

They even thoughtfully set up a group chat, so when one of them had earned enough energy and made his exit, the next could take over without delay.

The first twenty-five years of his life had been one long dream. The sincere feelings he'd given them were nothing but loot boxes dropped by monsters in a game.

Lin ZhiQue looked at the eager puppy of a man by his hospital bed. “This may be hard to believe, but I've actually learned a few martial arts moves.”

But when Lin ZhiQue finally came to his senses and, frail as he was, prepared to stay away from those scumbags, they all came crawling back from the dead!

The icy CEO's eyes reddened as he tried to grasp his hand. “A Que, you've always been the only one in my heart. Can you give me one more chance?”

Lin ZhiQue stepped back. “Sorry, I have a thing about cleanliness. Please close the door on your way out. Thanks.”

The tsundere travel writer knelt and pleaded, “Little Bird, would you still go see the northern lights with me?”

Lin ZhiQue smiled. “If a polar bear eats you, maybe I'll come to your funeral.”

The gentle race car driver climbed out of his coffin too, holding out his arms. “ZhiQue, I'm back.”

Lin ZhiQue coldly walked around him. “Dead people belong in coffins. Don't climb out and scare people.”

The puppyish guy who hadn't gotten together with him yet looked at him pitifully. “Do I have to take the blame for what they did? I won't abandon you, Brother Lin.”

Lin ZhiQue smiled. “I'm the one who doesn't want you. It has nothing to do with anyone else.”

Whatever your motives, this time, I'm the one who walks away first.
